Will There Be a Gen V Season 2?
Yes, Gen V has been renewed for Season 2 at Amazon Prime Video! Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, said in a statement (via Variety):
“Expanding the universe of ‘The Boys’ with a series as bold as ‘Gen V’ has been an incredible journey for us and our wonderful partners at Sony. From our first conversation with showrunners Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, along with Eric Kripke, Evan Goldberg, and Seth Rogen, we knew ‘Gen V’ would push the boundaries.
Their unapologetic approach is exactly what audiences love, and it has helped ‘Gen V’ become the No. 1 series on Prime Video in over 130 countries. ‘Gen V’ is Prime Video’s most acquisitive new Original series of 2023, and we’re excited that our incredible cast and crew are going to continue telling brave and bold stories from ‘Gen V’ to our customers.”
Additionally, showrunner Michele Fazekas and executive producer Eric Kripke said:
“We couldn’t be happier to make a second season of ‘Gen V'. These are characters and stories we’ve grown to love, and we are thrilled to know people feel the same!
The writers are already working on the new season—sophomore year is gonna be wild, with all the twists, heart, satire, and exploding genitalia you’ve come to expect from the show.”
The news is not really a big surprise for fans considering that prior to the show's renewal, there was already a writers' room for Season 2. But at least now, we know that another season is officially confirmed.

Gen V Season 2 Release Date: When Will the Second Season Come Out?
As of writing, there is no official release date for Gen V Season 2 yet. It is unlikely that Gen V Season 2 will be released in 2024 considering that it may clash with The Boys Season 4.
However, since the writers have already been working on the second season even before the renewal, there's a chance filming could begin next year, and we would be getting Season 2 in 2025.

Gen V Season 2 Plot: What Will the Second Season Be About?
There are no plot details for Gen V Season 2 yet since what happened in Gen V Season 1 sets up The Boys Season 4, not the second season of the spin-off.
The Supe-killing virus introduced in Gen V will be part of the story in The Boys Season 4, and we can expect The Boys Season 4 to give hints about what will happen in Gen V Season 2.
Talking about the connections between Gen V and The Boys, Kripke told Entertainment Weekly:
"I don't think it's a spoiler to say that, by the end of season 1 of Gen V, there's a handoff to season 4 of The Boys. Then whenever we break season 4 of The Boys, there will be a handoff to the hopeful season 2 of Gen V."
Kripke also told Variety:
We try to keep the timeline super simple because all that folding-in-on-itself timeline stuff that I think other comic book universes find themselves having to do is just bewildering for me as a viewer.
So it’s all very modular. It’s like there’s Season 3 of “The Boys,” and then after that “Gen V” takes place, and then after that “The Boys” Season 4 takes place. And then after that, “Gen V” Season 2 takes place. It’s all more like cars on a train than it is a plate of spaghetti.
We could expect The Boys Season 4 finale to set up Gen V Season 2, similar to how Gen V Season 1's finale sets up the upcoming The Boys season. It is also possible that we will be seeing the Gen V characters in The Boys Season 4.
Gen V Season 2 Cast: Who Will Be in the Second Season?
We can expect to see the following in Gen V Season 2:
- Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau
- Chance Perdomo as Andre Anderson
- Lizze Broadway as Emma Meyer
- Maddie Phillips as Cate Dunlap
- London Thor and Derek Luh as Jordan Li
- Asa Germann as Sam
We might not be seeing Patrick Schwarzenegger, Shelley Conn, Marco Pigossi, and Clancy Brown in Gen V Season 2 considering their character's deaths, although they could return in flashback scenes.
