For the past couple of months, we've been hearing rumors that Sir Ian McKellen is set to reprise his iconic role of Magneto in Deadpool 3 which is set to bring back a lot of actors from the past X-Men films including Hugh Jackman.
So far, none of the people involved in the film have commented on the rumor although director Shawn Levy recently teased in an interview that some of the rumors that we've been hearing are true.
If McKellen does end up appearing in Deadpool 3, a lot of fans will definitely be happy to see him play Magneto again and it would be an added bonus if he comes back alongside Patrick Stewart's Charles Xavier.
Now, it looks like the veteran actor is also set to return in another MCU movie based on a new rumor that has surfaced.
Ian McKellen is Returning in Avengers: Secret Wars According to New Report
Just like in the Deadpool 3 rumor, Marvel Studios has not commented yet whether this scoop is true or not.
Given that the film will explore the multiverse in a bigger way, it's really not a far-fetch to see McKellen be part of it alongside the other X-Men actors to assist in the fight against the big baddie.
McKellen has also been open recently about not retiring to acting anytime soon which is a sign that we could see him continue playing Magneto if Marvel Studios wants him to do so for the rest of the Multiverse Saga.
Once we hear a confirmation that he will be making an appearance in Secret Wars, there's no doubt that fans would support the idea and they'll be excited to see the 84-year-old kickass again in the role which could also potentially be his last time playing the character.
Avengers: Secret Wars is slated for release in theaters on May 7, 2027.
