Classroom of the Elite has a dizzying array of characters, though Mio Ibuki is perhaps one of the most interesting. Aside from her complex personality, many Classroom of the Elite fans are wondering who Ibuki’s love interest is.
While the anime is far from a romance series, it does have its fair share of romantic developments. This makes sense as, even if it’s a thriller, it’s still set in a high school.

Who is Mio Ibuki in Classroom of the Elite?
Mio Ibuki is a Class 1-C student, and though she’s not in Class A, she is skilled academically, all while being a capable physical fighter.
As shown in the Classroom of the Elite anime, Ibuki has a loner streak as she prefers to do things without others’ help. Still, Ibuki is often seen near Kakeru Ryuen, the leader of Class 1-C.
Even though Ibuki is not fond of Ryuen and his cruel ways, she continues to follow him because she aims to get to Class A, meaning her goals align with Ryuen.
Ibuki may not be ruthless and violent like Ryuen, but she’s still very much a deceptive person. After all, she was able to infiltrate Class D to steal Horikita’s keycard.

In the anime, Ibuki and Ayanokoji interact several times such as during the school cruise and the survival test.
Ayanokoji may not seem like a heartthrob, but many girls have fallen in love with him. So, is Ibuki among them? Well, it’s clear that she isn’t.
Sure, Ibuki and Ayanokoji had some date-like events, but as the series went on, any romantic potential seemed to have been dispelled.
Ibuki was shocked when she found out that Ayanokoji was Class D’s mastermind. Since then, she has become awkward and rather wary of Ayanokoji.

Who is Ibuki’s Love Interest in Classroom of the Elite?
As Ayanokoji is not Ibuki’s love interest, who is? It’s also clearly not Kakeru Ryuen. Even though she sticks by his side when needed, she has explained that she dislikes Ryuen.
Ibuki has also been shown to care about Albert Yamada of Class C, though again, there doesn’t seem to be any romance here.
For now, Ibuki does not have a clear love interest. Of course, that doesn’t mean there won’t be one in the future.
