Classroom of the Elite’s latest episode put the spotlight on Class 1-B’s Honami Ichinose. Because of the latest events in the series, fans are wondering: does Ichinose like Ayanokoji in Classroom of the Elite?
Ichinose might not be part of Class 1-D, but she’s easily one of the most important characters in the series so far, not to mention one of the most unique.

Honami Ichinose: A Unique Character for Classroom of the Elite Standards
Given that many of Classroom of the Elite's characters range from conniving to outright brutal, Honami Ichinose is a breath of fresh air for many fans. That’s because Ichinose is a genuinely kind-hearted person.
In contrast with other characters who resort to underhanded tactics despite having a pleasant exterior (such as Kikyo Kushida), Ichinose is sincere about her interactions with schoolmates.
As the series has tons of drama and mystery, Ichinose no doubt makes an impression because of her pacifist nature. This stands in sharp contrast to the master manipulator, Kiyotaka Ayanokoji.
Does Ichinose Like Ayanokoji in Classroom of the Elite?
Despite being near-polar opposites, Ichinose and Ayanokoji are on good terms. Back in Season 1, Ichinose helped Ayanokoji multiple times, and since then, they have enjoyed a good relationship.
Many girls in the series develop feelings for Ayanokoji. For those wondering if that’s also true here, the latest anime episode all but confirms that Ichinose likes Ayanokoji.
On Valentine’s Day, Ayanokoji received five chocolates. The day after, Ichinose became the sixth girl to give him chocolates – a major indication of her feelings for Ayanokoji.
As fans may have expected, the light novel’s story has some interesting developments for the two.

Ichinose and Ayanokoji’s Relationship in the Light Novel
If there was any doubt about Ichinose’s feelings for Ayanokoji, these are quelled by the events in the light novel’s 2nd Year arc.
During the 2nd Year Uninhabited Island Exam, Ichinose confesses her feelings to Ayanokoji. While she doesn’t immediately get an answer, she eventually finds out about Ayanokoji’s relationship.
True to her kind-hearted nature, Ichinose did not react negatively as she responded by accepting that Ayanokoji has his heart for another.
It will take some time before the anime gets to this part of the story though, as the ongoing Classroom of the Elite Season 3 is still covering the final volumes of the First Year arc.
