If you may recall, it was thanks to Ravonna Renslayer, the TVA judge, that Sylvie even found out what pruning does to the variants in Loki Season 1. So, who exactly is Renslayer? And where is she in Loki Season 2?

One thing that any MCU fan learned about Loki Season 1 is that the Kang the Conqueror variant, He Who Remains, is not the only villain we've got to keep an eye on in the Marvel Cinematic Universe series.

In the first season of Loki, Ravonn Renslayer (played by Gugu Mbatha-Raw) served as the Time Variance Authority judge in charge of sentencing the God of Mischief's fate in the headquarters.

After much deliberation and thanks to Mobius' intervention, Loki was instead utilized under his team to track down Lady Loki / Sylvie on the branching timelines.

Renslayer is an esteemed member of the TVA, so much so that she was able to be in the presence of the Time Keepers to capture both Loki variants within her grasp.

Unlike the other variants who were kidnapped by He Who Remains to work as loyal agents of the TVA, when Renslayer found out she was a variant of Rebecca Tourminet, her first reaction was to dignify that the creation of their headquarters must have a great purpose.

"Someone created the Time-Keepers. They created this whole place. They gave us all purpose. I have to believe they had a reason... only one person gets free will: the one in charge" were Renslayer's words when her dear friend Mobius tried to warn her that the TVA lied to them.

Ravonna Renslayer and Kang's Relationship in the Marvel Comics

In Marvel Comics, Renslayer is the love interest of Kang the Conqueror. As the daughter of Other-Earth's 40th-century King Carelius, her presence attracted Kang and led to his romantic pursuit of her.

This isn't as easy of a love story as much as you think it is, no. Even though they did end up loving each other, Renslayer eventually realized that Kang sought power and his goal to eliminate the Avengers more than trying to save her.

This love-hate relationship between Kang and Renslayer could play a huge role in the Loki series, as well, seeing as Victor Timely doesn't look like the guy who would back down from a fight with whoever gets in his way of conquering the universe.

Flash forward to the events of Loki Season 2, we have yet to see Renslayer's appearance from the premiere alone. Nothing has led to any clues of her apart from the Time Slipping the God of Mischief has been experiencing.

However, if we follow what the Loki Season 2 trailer unveiled, we only saw a few glimpses of Ravonna Renslayer traveling outside of the TVA headquarters.

We've seen her in traditional clothing, with the background of people seemingly suggesting she was exactly where Loki and Mobius ended up to find the next Kang the Conqueror variant, Victor Timely.

Considering that Loki also caught wind of the tape record, a discussion between He Who Remains and Renslayer in their agreement to rule the TVA, it is a clear indication that the duo had been working alongside each other since the beginning of time.

The second episode of Loki Season 2 has finally located Renslayer's whereabouts, where it led to the events of the third episode.

Miss Minutes had instructed Renslayer to take the TVA handbook through the young Victor Timely's window, which led him to become the genius Kang variant he was known to be by 1893.

This was all so that Renslayer could continue to reign the TVA alongside Victor Timely this time, as Miss Minutes promised.

Although He Who Remains' close relationship with Renslayer has merely been implied, the 'spark of romance' was more heavily shown between her and Victor, considering the Kang variant even made her a flower from paper.

Unfortunately, this only marked his betrayal, as it turned out, he never wanted to be partners with her or Miss Minutes in the first place.

The third episode teased MCU fans with a cliffhanger, indicating that there's another looming secret from He Who Remains, which eventually revealed that Renslayer played a much bigger role than just being the Kang variant's partner in building the TVA.

The series hasn't explicitly told Renslayer what her previous original identity was, and before Season 2 could even begin to expound on it, she disappeared on the Sacred Timeline by the fifth episode.

Even though we have been chasing Renslayer throughout the entire Season 2, the minute the Temporal Loom exploded right into the TVA headquarters, she was nowhere in sight.

We only got to see Renslayer once more in the finale episode of the second season, wherein she woke up where she supposedly belongs.

Considering that the episode is titled Glorious Purpose and Renslayer woke up in the empty field, right at the end of time where Alioth resided, you could say it was befitting for her story.

As for whether she did meet her doom by Alioth remains to be seen, since the camera panned off screen before we got to see Renslayer come up against Kang the Conqueror's entity.
