It's been 3 years since Knives Out was released. And today, we're getting word of a sequel to the hit murder mystery that starred Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc.
The sequel, called Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, was created by Rian Johnson after getting inspiration from Agatha Christie's classic whodunit series. It seems like these types of mystery movies are getting popular. And aside from the sequel, we have a Knives Out 3 movie to look forward to.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery Release Date
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery will make its premiere on Netflix this year. The streaming giant revealed the release date for the movie on December 23rd via Twitter. In addition to this, the movie will also be released in theaters but an official release date has not yet been revealed.
But prior to its release on Netflix, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery will also be played at the Toronto International Film Festival in September as well as the BFI London Film Festival in October.
Will There Be a Third Knives Out Movie?
Upon this writing, there a third Knives Out movie has not yet been confirmed. But according to reports, Netflix purchased the rights to distribute two sequels in 2021. This means that a third movie could likely be in the works, as long as the sequel gets a good reception from the audience.
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery Cast
Although Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is a sequel to the 2019 mystery, it won't continue on with that story. And while Daniel Craig will reprise his role in the movie, we won't get to see the same characters from the first movie. So no, we won't get to see Chris Evans, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, or Jamie Lee Curtis in this sequel. Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery will have new characters.

The first details of the plot of Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery have been shared by Netflix as:
"When a tech billionaire Miles Bron invites some of his nearest and dearest for a getaway on his private Greek island, it soon becomes clear that all is not perfect in paradise. And when someone turns up dead, well, who better than Blanc to peel back the layers of intrigue?"
That's all we know about the Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery story right now. But as promised by the writer, fans will get to know more about the Southern private detective in this movie.
Is There a Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery Trailer?
Right now, Netflix has not released an official Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery trailer. But we've seen some material that showcases Daniel Craig's return for the role.
