Earlier this month, we learned that Oscar-nominated actor Steven Yeun backed out of the upcoming MCU film Thunderbolts. He exited the project due to scheduling conflicts caused by the strike-related delay.

While Marvel Studios did not confirm the recently minted Emmy winner's supposed role in the film, multiple reports revealed that he was set to play the fan-favorite character Sentry.

Since then, the studio started their search to find a new actor who can take over the role of Sentry in the MCU film and now it looks like they have finally found a replacement.

Insider Daniel Richtman revealed that Marvel Studios has found a new actor who can potentially take over the role of Sentry in Thunderbolts following Steven Yeun's exit.

Top Gun: Maverick and Lessons in Chemistry star Lewis Pullman is currently in talks to replace Yeun in the MCU film. It is unknown yet whether they are close to making a deal.

While neither Marvel Studios nor Pullman's presentative have commented on the report, the major trade publications have also reported about the actor's potential casting.

Pullman recently starred in the Apple TV+ limited series Lessons in Chemistry with MCU mainstay Brie Larson where he received praises from critics and audience for his performance. He also played Bob Floyd in Top Gun: Maverick and will star in the upcoming horror film Salem's Lot.

In the past few years, his career has been on the rise due to his involvement in high-profile projects and there is no doubt that joining the MCU might make him a bigger name considering that he will play a character that would likely become a scene-stealer.

He has also shown in his recent performances that he is a talented actor so he will likely do a great job playing Sentry in the MCU film and it's interesting to see how his take on the character will play out.

Thunderbolts is slated for release in theaters on July 25, 2025.
