He revealed that Yeun is playing Sentry in the MCU film while recounting his conversation with the actor surrounding the costume fitting that he did for the role.

"My good friend Steven Yeun is playing the Sentry in a movie," Kirkman said.

"Yeah he called me, he went in for a costume fitting. I hope I’m not... I don’t think this is a spoiler or anything that will get anybody in trouble. I don’t know, maybe. We’ll see. I don’t care. I don’t work for Marvel. What are they going to do to me?"

The Invincible creator continued, "Yeah, he called me and he said, 'I just came back from a costume fitting for the Sentry. I guess I only do superheroes that are yellow and blue.' He said he was at the costume fitting and was like, 'Aww, crap. I forgot Invincible was yellow and blue.'"

Kirlman was obviously referring to Yeun's voice role in Invincible as Mark Grayson, who also dons a yellow and blue costume in his superhero form in the series.

This is finally the confirmation that MCU fans have been waiting for after months of speculation and, now, we know that Sentry is going to be a pivotal character in the upcoming team-up film.

Yeun has proven to be a terrific actor for years now (he is an Oscar-nominated actor after all) and there is no doubt that he can do a great job playing Sentry, who is a multi-layered character in the comics. It is exciting to see what his take will be and whether it will be similar to the source material.

Thunderbolts is slated for release in theaters on July 25, 2025.
