The upcoming Star Wars series The Acolyte has finally set its tentative release date according to a new report.

A few weeks ago, it was reported that Lucasfilm was circling a summer premiere on Disney+ although no exact date had been set yet during that time.

It is one of the two Star Wars live-action TV shows slated to premiere this year. It will also be the first major project that is set in the High Republic era of the galaxy.

Collider reported that The Acolyte is currently slated to premiere on Disney+ on June 5 this year.

They also revealed that Michael Abels, who scored all the Jordan Peele-directed films, has been tapped to compose the music for the series.

So far, Lucasfilm and Disney+ have not confirmed the claims that were made in the report.

If the information ends up being true, The Acolyte will become Disney's major tentpole release for the summer season, similar to Obi-Wan Kenobi when it premiered in 2022.

It is also likely that we will be getting the first trailer very soon since they have circled a tentative release date.

The series is described as "a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era."

The story centers on a former Padawan who reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes.

It will be the first Star Wars TV series that is set in the High Repubic era, a timeline that has been vastly explored in novels and comic books. The events take place around 100 years before The Phantom Menace.

Russian Doll co-creator Leslye Headland serves as the showrunner of the series. It also bolsters a stacked cast including the likes of Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Jodie Turner-Smith, Carrie-Anne Moss, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, and more.
