One of the upcoming Star Wars projects that is currently on its way is The Acolyte, the High Republic era-set TV show that will take place around 100 years before the events of The Phantom Menace.

Fans have been anticipating the release of the series as production already wrapped last year and Lucasfilm has not released any sneak peeks or trailer publicly.

We do know that the series will premiere this year although it is unknown yet when exactly it will drop. Fortunately, we finally have the release window and it looks like fans will only need to wait for just a few more months.

Collider has reported that The Acolyte is set to arrive on Disney+ this coming summer. However, they didn't provide details on the exact date or month that Lucasfilm is eyeing for its release.

The series will likely premiere around late May (since that month is usually the Star Wars anniversary celebration) or around June. Obi-Wan Kenobi was notably released around that period when it was released in 2022.

This is definitely exciting news for fans since it means that they need to wait for only just a few months before its potential premiere and a summer release means that Lucasfilm is giving it a prime spot since it is the period where they can get a lot of viewers.

The series is described as "a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era."

Russian Doll co-creator Leslye Headland serves as the showrunner of the series. It is also significant since it will be the first Star Wars live-action project that is set in the High Republic era.

Aside from The Acolyte, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is also slated to release on Disney+ later this year although no release window has been set yet. It will likely arrive in the fall season now that the summer spot has been taken.
