Black Panther actress Angela Bassett might be joining the Star Wars franchise according to a recent scoop. This comes as she recently starred in the MCU as Queen Ramonda in the aforementioned film and its sequel.
She made history last year when she received an Oscar nomination for her performance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, making her the first actor to do so for an MCU film.
Last month, she received an Honorary Oscar for her exceptional acting contributions to cinema throughout her decades-long career.

Angela Bassett Reportedly Met with Lucasfilm for Potential Star Wars Role
According to insider Daniel Richtman, Bassett recently met with Lucasfilm for a potential role in a future Star Wars project.
No details were provided regarding the character that she is in talks to potentially play and which project will she likely star in.
Also, neither Lucasfilm nor Bassett's representative have confirmed the claims that Richtman made in his report.
Based on what Lucasfilm is developing in its future Star Wars pipeline, it is likely that the actress is in talks to join either The Mandalorian & Grogu (which will begin filming later this year), the second season of Ahsoka, or the New Jedi Order movie starring Daisy Ridley.
There is no doubt that Bassett will be a great addition to the franchise since she is a talented actress and has accolades to prove her exceptional work as an on-screen presence.
Her tenure in the MCU also proved that she can deliver a terrific performance in a genre project that also gets awards attention.
Since the talks are still early, it will take a while before we hear more news regarding Bassett's potential involvement in the galaxy far, far away. We may learn about it in the coming months.
