Recently, James Gunn finally cast the actors who will play Clark Kent and Lois Lane in Superman: Legacy and the DCU overall. Fans are now looking out for the casting of the other major DC character in the newly rebooted franchise under DC Studios.

We also know that the film is expected to introduce more DC heroes as reports revealed that it will also feature some of the members of The Authority, who will also get their own solo movie.

Now, as Gunn and his team are currently deep into pre-production, we finally have another casting update for the film and it looks like they will indeed introduce more heroes aside from Superman himself.

According to Vanity Fair, Isabela Merced and Edi Gathegi have been cast to play Hawkgirl and Mister Terrific respectively in Superman: Legacy. They are also expected to continue their roles in other DCU projects moving forward.

Their casting was announced alongside the confirmation that Nathan Fillion has also been cast to play Green Lantern Guy Gardner in the DCU film.

This is an indication that the Man of Steel's DCU debut movie will establish that there are already existing superheroes around the world. It is unknown yet how those three heroes will play into the story of the film.

Both Merced and Gathegi are no strangers to the comic book world. The former is also set to appear in the upcoming Sony/Marvel movie Madame Web while the latter played Darwin in X-Men: First Class where he was part of one of its most memorable scenes.

They are joining the cast that already includes David Corenswent (Clark Kent) and Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane). Gunn is reportedly casting for the roles of Jimmy Olsen and Lex Luthor at the moment.

It is exciting to see what the actors' take on the beloved DC heroes will be and how they will interact with the Man of Steel. It is especially more intriguing for Gathegi since it looks like he will finally have a comic book role where he can really shine and not have a quick death.
