In a recent reveal stream, Warner Bros. Japan shared a new Suicide Squad Isekai teaser that revealed the anime’s five main cast members.
This teaser is also a must-see for DC fans as it finally features more squad members. The anime’s previous trailer focused mainly on Harley Quinn and The Joker. Finally, this new one reveals three more characters.
The show’s cast is also interesting as it features many veteran VAs, though the voice of Harley Quinn is an up-and-coming actress.
Rising Anime VA Anna Nagase Gets Lead Role in Suicide Squad Anime
Suicide Squad Isekai came as a surprise when it was revealed a couple of months ago by Warner Bros. Japan and Wit Studio. After all, a DC isekai series is something that pretty much no one expected.
For this series, Wit Studio cast the rising voice actress Anna Nagase as Harley Quinn. This is quite a surprise given that such a popular character is being voiced by a fairly new VA.
That’s not to say that Nagase is an inexperienced rookie. This 18-year-old VA has already racked up a strong resume of roles. Her breakout role is no doubt Ushio Kofune in the Summer Time Rendering anime.
Nagase has also voiced several characters this year. These include Riko Amanai in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, Louise in Undead Girl Murder Farce, and Tsumugi Himeno in Ippon Again!
Suicide Squad Isekai Main Voice Cast Revealed in New Teaser
DC’s Suicide Squad has a rotating lineup of villains-turned-heroes, as seen in the two live-action films. The anime’s new teaser finally reveals more of the lineup was chosen for this series.
Joining Harley and The Joker are Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface, and King Shark. You can check them out in action in the teaser here:
The voice cast members for these characters were also revealed, and they include:
- Yuuichirou Umehara (Goblin Slayer in Goblin Slayer) as The Joker
- Reigo Yamaguchi (Ishida in Cardfight!! Vanguard overDress) as Deadshot
- Takehito Koyasu (Dio Brando in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) as Peacemaker
- Jun Fukuyama (Lelouch Lamperouge in Code Geass) as Clayface
- Subaru Kimura (Aoi Todo in Jujutsu Kaisen) as King Shark
Suicide Squad Isekai will be released sometime in 2024. Currently, there’s no word yet on a release date or a streaming platform partner for it outside of Japan.
