Details about this “torture” anime have been revealed over the last month. Now, the ‘Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess anime has an official release date that was revealed in a new teaser.
Last month, this upcoming anime got its first proper trailer that showed off some new clips. Soon after, more voice cast members have been revealed.
Now, with the release date finally being confirmed, fans of the original manga and comedy anime lovers will have a date to mark on their calendars.
‘Tis Time for "Torture," Princess' Teaser Previews Opening Theme
The ‘Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess anime got a new commercial recently to help promote its January release date. Instead of featuring new clips, this ad is essentially a recut version of the previously released trailer.
What is new about it is that it previews the opening theme Massakasa Magic! by the Japanese band shallm.
Meanwhile, the show’s ending theme was also revealed, and it is titled Ashita wa Ashita no Kaze ga Fuku (or Tomorrow will take care of itself in English) by the Japanese music group LEEVELLES.
These two bands are rising Japanese music acts, so this series is the first time that the two groups will make songs for an anime.
The anime’s voice cast members are fairly well-known though. Voicing the main character, Hime-sama, is Haruka Shiraishi (Asirpa in Golden Kamuy).
She is joined by Chikahiro Kobayashi (Legoshi in Beastars) as the sword Ex, and Shizuka Ito (Kaori Kanzaki in A Certain Magical Index) as Torture Tortura.
Meanwhile, handling animation duties is Pine Jam, the studio behind shows such as Do It Yourself!! and Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible.

‘Tis Time for "Torture," Princess Anime Gets January Release Date
Despite the word “torture” in its title, there’s nothing torturous about this anime; unless you find hilarious gags to be pure torture.
That’s because this upcoming anime follows the Princess of the Imperial Army who has been captured by the Hellhorde. There, the Princess is subjected to “torture” so the Hellhorde can get information out of her.
In the series’ world, actual torture is banned by a treaty. So instead, the Hellhorde’s chief interrogator, Torture Tortura, resorts to different means such as tempting the Princess with delicious snacks.
The 'Tis Time for "Torture," Princess anime will be released on January 8, 2024. In Japan, the anime will be broadcast on Tokyo MX, BS11, and Kansai TV.
Currently, there’s no word yet on which platform this anime will be streamed on outside of Japan.
