Simu Liu Assures Shang-Chi 2 is Still Happening Despite Long Delay

Simu Liu recently provided a brief promising update on the long-gestated Shang-Chi 2 as fans are eager to see the sequel come to fruition.

Following the surprise success of the first film in 2021, Marvel Studios started developing a sequel with Destin Daniel Cretton back on board to direct the follow-up and Liu returning to star as well.

However, since then, we haven't heard any major updates on the MCU sequel and fans are wondering whether it is still happening considering the long delay it already had.

Simu Liu Promises Shang-Chi 2 is Still on Its Way

In response to a fan's post on Threads, Liu promised that Shang-Chi 2 is still happening despite the long delay.

User @victoria_avalor posted about her frustration over the lack of updates on the sequel as she felt that Marvel has "abandoned" the fan base and has "no effort" to move forward to filming.

The actor responded to the post and wrote, "I proooomiss it’s happening."

This is not the first time that Liu assured fans that the sequel is happening in the past several months as he also made similar responses in various interviews.

While the lack of updates might be discouraging for fans, it is still worthwhile that Liu is assuring that the sequel is happening and perhaps he knows some details about its development that he cannot share publicly at the moment.

We also know that Marvel Studios is currently reassessing their strategy on their projects so they might be taking their time on the development of Shang-Chi 2 and make sure that it will live up to the quality.

For now, fans should wait for news and updates in the coming months and there is a chance that we will be hearing more information about the project soon.
