Will Secret Invasion Ever Be Made Into A Movie?

Nick Fury finally gets his own TV Show, Secret Invasion. With six episodes coming out for the miniseries, we’ll surely get to see much more of our favorite iconic SHIELD director in action.

Now that he’s returned to earth that’s been nearly invaded by Gravik and his growing Skrulls colony, how will Fury save his home planet?

Another question that seems to be lingering within the fandom is, although Secret Invasion has debuted as a weekly-release type series, is it possible for the series to still get made into a movie?

Was Secret Invasion Meant To Be a Movie?

Showing off more of Nick Fury’s life on Marvel TV was something that had long been rumored and planned all along.

After all, the guy deserves to get his own TV show set about him, and what could be more perfect than him saving earth with his remaining alliance with Talos and a few other Skrulls?

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige explained in a January 2021 interview with Collider their reason for making Secret Invasion into a series instead of a typical MCU film:

“I mean, we’re interested in the political paranoia aspect of Secret Invasion and really showcasing the stars with Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn, two amazing actors that you want to have in any series, and we’re very lucky to have them for that. That’s the sort of primary focus of that and of course, it will tie into other things and the Skrulls in ways you haven’t seen before, but yes, anything could be anything. Wise words… But we wanted to do that as a series because it would allow us to do something different than we’ve done before.”

If you think about how each 40-50 minute episode progresses, there are some gaps that could just as easily be removed if Secret Invasion was instead made into a movie. However, there are two things why the Nick Fury show is more fitting in its own platform.

Apart from Marvel Studios’ decision to do so, Secret Invasion works as a series because of the plot twists and turns it reveals by the end of each episode, which leaves MCU fans yearning for more information and answers to their growing questions.

And second, Nick Fury deserves his own show for all the years he’s served as the Avengers’ shadow man working behind-the-scenes, after all.

So, Will Secret Invasion Ever Be Made Into a Movie?

Well, a bit too late to expect Secret Invasion ever being made into a movie, really, considering it already debuted as a series on Disney Plus.

However, if you consider what happened to WandaVision (a series), which tied in with the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (a movie), then Secret Invasion could possibly lead to a movie continuum, pretty much the whole idea behind the Multiverse Saga.

Speaking of which, an MCU film that is directly going to tie in with Secret Invasion is none other than the Captain Marvel sequel, The Marvels, which also stars Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury back in space after calling Monica Rambeau.
