Here’s the Recap of One Piece Chapter 1101
The title of One Piece Chapter 1101 is Dear Bonney, and it picks up where the previous chapter left off as Kuma arrives in East Blue, specifically on Mt. Columbo in Goa Kingdom.
A 16-year-old Luffy is practicing his Gum Gum Axe technique while Kuma takes a stroll in the woods. Kuma immediately sensed Dragon and met up with him for a small talk.
He confronted Dragon about following Luffy, but Dragon responded that now was the perfect time for Kuma to kill him.
Kuma doesn’t understand why he would say that, but Dragon reveals that children are a parent's weak points, as if he’s indirectly confirming that the 16-year-old Luffy is his son.
As Luffy hypes himself to become a pirate and starts gathering companions, Kuma and Dragon watch from afar. Luffy noticed a strong presence behind him, which gave him goosebumps.
He never saw Dragon or Kuma, so he focused on finding anyone who looked like the head of the island to deal with instead.
Later, Kuma helped an escaping pirate ship after it attacked a merchant ship.
Instead of destroying the pirate ship as ordered by the Marines, Kuma decided to send the injured to the hospital after they returned everything they'd stolen. Then, Kuma turned himself in.
In a letter to Bonney, Kuma wrote about his adventures at sea as well as his wish to see Bonney’s smiling face when the time comes. He also tells Bonney how much he loves her and how he will keep writing to her.
Back at the Sorbet Kingdom, Bonney has been waiting for Kuma’s letters to arrive.
Gyogyo says that Kuma might be busy with his work, while Conney assures Bonney that the letters will come soon. However, Alpha has been tearing all of Kuma’s letters to Bonney all this time.
At some point, Alpha witnesses Bonney turning into a giant woman, but she thinks that she is hallucinating.
In truth, Bonney used her age manipulation ability to fight Gyogyo, but she only hid her devil fruit abilities as Conney advised her to do.
Meanwhile, in the 8th laboratory of the Marine Science Branch, Dr. Vegapunk has been making progress. Stussy is right by Dr. Vegapunk’s side, while the scientist deals with Kuma.
He keeps on asking Kuma if he’s fine with losing his sense of self, for it means total erasure of his human emotions and memories.
But Vegapunk will allow Kuma to at least have a slight trace of conscience until the point of no return.
Kuma writes a letter to Bonney again, since he wants to keep doing it as long as he has the time. Unfortunately, Bonney’s 9th birthday came, but still, no letters have reached her.
In the Main Office of the Revolutionary Army, news of Kuma saving the Revolutionary Army from a dangerous place has been reported.
Dragon thinks that Kuma must have some reason to do these things, but he can’t say anything.
Cut to the Sorbet Kingdom, Bonney’s Sapphire Scale disease has finally disappeared. She wants to go out of the chapel, but Alpha won’t allow her.
On the other hand, Conney finds out that Alpha is a World Government agent, making it odd for Bonney’s acting nurse to keep her locked down inside for another half year.
She also thinks it's odd that Kuma didn’t even write Bonney a single letter. This pushed Conney to advise Bonney to set out to the seas and go meet her father instead.
She also reveals that Gyogyo and the others will take Bonney to meet Kuma at all costs.
Bonney followed Conney’s advice, and she walked under direct sunlight for the very first time in a long time.
She met up with Gyogyo and the others on a pizza-style fishing ship (Jewelry Margherita), whereas Conney disguised herself as Bonney to fool Alpha.
Alpha ran as fast as she could to stop Bonney from leaving. She used the Rokushiki, but Bonney was reminded of the time when she asked Kuma about what Nika looked like.
Then, Bonney enlarged her body, as did her arm (which looks like Luffy’s Gear 3) to punch Alpha, calling her surprise attack Distortion Future, much to everyone’s surprise.
Before the chapter ends, Bonney escapes from the Sorbet Kingdom with her fishing ship, which would transform into a pirate ship of the new generation, standing right next to Luffy and the others.
Here Are the Spoilers and Predictions for One Piece Chapter 1102
As of writing, no spoilers have been leaked online for One Piece Chapter 1102. But we are speculating that the upcoming chapter will show us what happens to Kuma in Dr. Vegapunk’s laboratory after he gives up his free will and sense of individuality to the World Government.
Perhaps we will get to have a closer look at how the Pacifistas were made and how the Revolutionary Army took it.
We may also get an update about the present events on Egghead Island, where the Straw Hat Pirates, along with Dr. Vegapunk and Bonney, are all in trouble.
On the contrary, it will not come as a surprise if the upcoming chapter will still focus on Jewelry Bonney's sea adventures to find Kuma.
Because the next chapter will drop on Christmas day, Oda may do something to commemorate the holidays.
It could either be a cover page with a Christmas theme, or some of the characters celebrating the holidays in the story just for fun.
