Who Is Woop Slap in One Piece?
Woop Slap has been the mayor of Foosha Village, Luffy’s hometown, for more than a decade in One Piece.
Like any ordinary mayor, Woop Slap acts rude, disdainful, and humorless when it comes to pirates and bandits that pose a threat to the village.
He is not some sort of happy-go-lucky old man who dotes on his people, particularly young children like Luffy.
Instead, Woop Slap is strict and practical, the type of mayor who wants to make sure that everyone under his wing is safe and sound at all costs.
He is one of the few who hates Luffy’s way of life, although he believes that it was the young boy’s destiny to sail the seas as a pirate.
He worries a lot about Luffy, even though he’s trying hard to keep it to himself.
Similar to Makino, he follows Luffy’s endeavors as the bounty on his head gets bigger and bigger.
Like Garp, Woop Slap wants Luffy to quit his pirate dreams in the belief that the aspiring pirate king can do better.
Woop Slap knows a lot about Luffy’s upbringing, including how he was born. He knows about Dragon, Garp, and even Dadan.
Funny, Woop Slap also believes that the D family, including Dragon and Garp, are crazy due to what happened in the past.
Is Woop Slap a Former Pirate?
Woop Slap as a former pirate is one of the most recent theories discussed in the series.
This is because of a mysterious manga panel in One Piece Chapter 1096, where the members of the Rocks Pirates were shown, including Charlotte Linlin, Whitebeard, Kaidou, Shiki, and more.
One particular member noticeably looks like Woop Slap’s character design, and to this day, One Piece has yet to confirm the member’s identity.
While the manga panel is not clear, you can easily see the distinction between Woop Slap and the Rocks pirate members' character designs.
If this is true, then Woop Slap has a much bigger role in One Piece that has yet to be revealed.
The biggest argument about his theory is Woop Slap’s disdain toward pirates like Shanks and his crew.
We know how he feels about them, so Woop Slap as a former pirate doesn’t exactly sound right.
Will Woop Slap Meet Kuma in One Piece Chapter 1101?
In the latest chapter of One Piece, Kuma has agreed to the three conditions set by the World Government, particularly St. Jaygarcia Saturn, in exchange for treating Bonney’s Sapphire Scale disease, which she inherited from her mother, Ginny.
Kuma agreed to become one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea after Ace caused a disturbance for the former warlord.
He also agreed to undergo procedures to become a human weapon for the navy and give up his free will and sense of individuality.
After a year and a half, Kuma left Bonney and started his duty as one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea.
He became known as tyrant Kuma, the former King of Sorbet Kingdom who forcefully usurped the position of King Bekori.
By the end, Kuma is at East Blue, where we see Foosha Village on the horizon. Not to mention, there’s a manga panel of a young Luffy happily running from a tiger he angered.
Because of this, we are anticipating that Kuma and Woop Slap will encounter each other.
Fans are also looking forward to the meet-up between Kuma and Woop Slap, as they believe that they can finally see the latter in action.
