While no announcement of a break was made last week, it seems that My Hero Academia is going on a sudden break in the next issue of Weekly Shonen Jump based on recent reports.

Around this time, leaks of My Hero Academia’s next chapter usually get released. But sources have reported that the series’ upcoming chapter is delayed to the following Shonen Jump issue.

Horikoshi’s series has gone on a couple of week-long breaks over the past couple of months, though the recent breaks aren’t the first time in the series’ serialization history.

Over the past couple of years, My Hero Academia has gone through several delays, with many being caused by the author’s poor health.

Just a few weeks ago, Chapter 374 of the series only had 13 pages, with many fans believing the short length to be because of Horikoshi’s recurring health issues.

For reference, typical manga chapters have 18 to 20 pages on average.

Despite his health issues, Horikoshi hasn’t gone on an extended hiatus in the past couple of months, with his breaks usually just being 1-2 weeks in length. This is likely because the manga is now on its final arc.

While the manga’s ending is on the horizon, there’s no word yet on when the series will end.

Manga endings are usually announced well in advance. Such was the case for the endings of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War and Tokyo Revengers.

Though recently, Horikoshi revealed that he is reconsidering the manga’s ending date to sometime in 2023.

According to the leaks, My Hero Academia's next chapter was supposed to be released in the next Shonen Jump issue.

Though the sudden break meant that the upcoming issue still reportedly has the series on its Table of Contents.

Given the delay, Chapter 376 will be delayed to Issue #4/5 of Weekly Shonen Jump, which will be released in the following week.

Along with My Hero Academia, the other titles that are on break in the next issue include One Piece and Black Clover.

Ruri Dragon is still also listed as absent, though it has been months since said series last got a chapter.

Take note though, these leaks are not yet 100% confirmed as no official announcement has been made by Shueisha.

In fact, Manga Plus still lists the next chapter for release on December 18, 2022.
