What to Expect From My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia is set in a world where people are born with quirks. However, the main protagonist, Izuku Midoriya, also known as "Deku," is born without quirks.

In case you're unfamiliar, quirks are atypical abilities that distinguish an individual from others and for some reason, society is full of them. One For All, Blue Flames, Black Whip, and All For One are just a few examples.

The series follows the young Deku, who decides to become a hero after watching his idol, All Might, save hundreds of people.

However, he lacks any quirks to use, making him a laughingstock among his classmates, particularly the hotheaded Bakugo.

In a sudden turn of events, Deku meets All Might, who is lying low due to injuries sustained in a major incident.

Surprisingly, All Might is drawn to Deku because of his strong sense of justice and honor. This inspired him to take Deku under his wing as his successor.

To accommodate All Might's power, Deku needs to train harder than anyone else.

As a result, Deku miraculously enters the U.A. thanks to All Might's guidance.

He attends high school, where he is bullied by Bakugo and treated unfairly by some teachers before proving himself worthy of his position.

Is the My Hero Academia Manga Ending or Over?

The My Hero Academia manga is ending soon, according to the creator, Kohei Horikoshi, himself.

During Jump Festa, a statement from Horikoshi was read and translated as follows:

If things progress smoothly, the original My Hero Academia manga will reach its goal, for instance, in just about a year. If things do not go smoothly, I think at next year’s Jump Festa, I’ll have Mr. Yamashita read the same statement.

The takeaway is that Horikoshi intends to conclude the manga's story as soon as possible if all goes well.

If he fails to do so, the manga will be finished by 2023 or at a later date.

Notably, the manga has been put on hold due to COVID concerns. This is also true of other manga series, not just My Hero Academia.

The COVID-19 protocols in Japan are extremely stringent, which has an impact on the manga and anime industries.

The health of Kohei Horikoshi also caused delays in releasing new chapters.

The manga is reaching its conclusion. My Hero Academia's long-running plotlines are now being finalized, and Deku has mastered almost all of One For All's quirks.

Horikoshi also revealed that Bakugo will play a significant role in the final act of My Hero Academia.

For now, Horikoshi is working on the conclusion of My Hero Academia, which can satisfy fans all over the world.

Although it is unclear when and how Horikoshi will end the series, there is much speculation about the upcoming conclusion.

When Will the My Hero Academia Manga End?

As of writing, the ending of the My Hero Academia manga is still unknown because its author, Kohei Horikoshi, is reconsidering the manga's end date.

However, given that the manga is already in its final saga and Deku is now facing AFO-Shigaraki Tomura in what appears to be their final confrontation, the ending will come very soon.

Kohei Horikoshi left an author's message (in Japanese) in the October issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, which can be read in English below:

At the end of last year, I said the series would be over in 1 year, but it’s already been 10 months. I’m reconsidering it.

So far, the conflict within the Todoroki family has been resolved. The same thing happened to Ochako and Himiko, who both finally decided to listen to each other and talk about love.

But the fight is not yet over, as All Might faces All For One while Deku tries to save Shigaraki from the darkness in his heart!

Will All Might be able to survive in his current condition? Who will be the hero who turns the tables in favor of the good?
