What Happened Before Masamune-kun’s Revenge Season 2 Episode 3?
Kanetsugu confronts Yoshino about her true intentions with him. He knew that Yoshino was lying the moment she told him that she liked him.
He also showed Yoshino a stolen photo of her fist bumping with Makabe and used it as blackmail against her.
Yoshino couldn’t fight back due to the repercussions of her actions. She is still Aki’s attendant, but the moment Kanetsugu tells her parents about her unnecessary actions, she will be dismissed from her duties.
Besides, Yoshino is hiding a huge secret she can’t tell Aki and Makabe. She has been lying all this time, which stops her from doing something about Kanetsugu’s conniving behavior toward Aki and Makabe.
Elsewhere, Aki and Makabe are doing their best to show Muriel how Japanese couples do their thing.
They had a rough start, but they decided to start their act by walking side by side. They also talked about random things while Muriel dubbed over their conversation, much to Aki’s frustration.
At some point, Aki got hungry, and Makabe did her a favor by giving her what she wanted.
They also decided to feed each other to show some rom-com thing for Muriel, but they lost courage in the middle of it.
All of a sudden, a cute dog approached Aki. Makabe remembered how Aki used to love dogs, but the latter shared that she couldn’t bring herself to get new ones after the last ones died.
Because of this, Aki decided to tell Makabe the truth about why she couldn't accept Makabe’s feelings.
In a flashback, Aki wanted to play with Yoshino, but the latter had chicken pox. She had no one to play with, and her parents were also fighting once again.
It was only Aki’s dogs, Sean and Lancelot, who could accompany her that day. But then Aki saw a young boy being bullied by a group of kids in front of their house.
She sent one of her dogs to chase them out, and the young boy, named Masamune, thanked Aki for her protection.
As the days went by, Aki got tired of her parents, who constantly fought for her affection.
She even rants to Masamune about their incessant fighting, to which the latter cries.
Seeing Masamune’s tears, Aki decided to toughen up Masamune to help him fight his bullies.
Every day became fun for Aki due to Masamune. They even had a photo together, which symbolized their bond.
One day, Masamune decided to confront his bullies. Thanks to Aki’s help, Masamune dealt with them flawlessly.
But it was Aki who needed Masamune’s support following his success over his bullies.
Masamune promised Aki that he would cheer and support her after everything she did.
However, Masamune disappeared, and Aki began to have a habit of overeating just to release her stress.
Back in the present, Makabe can’t believe Aki’s story. After all, he knew the truth, and Aki’s story is far different from his memories of her.
He also found out that Kanetsugu is pretending to be him, which is why Aki can’t accept his feelings.
Makabe got angry with Aki. He even told Aki that she deserved everything she’s been going through, much to Aki’s disgust.
Muriel tried to intervene between them, but Makabe and Aki already have too much on their minds to calm down and hear each other out.
Before the episode ends, Aki looks for Yoshino to vent her feelings, while Makabe returns to the hotel.
