Marvel's Ironheart Series Casts RuPaul’s Drag Race Winner Shea Couleé in a Secret Role

The Marvel Cinematic Universe family gets bigger and better as new shows and movies fill in Phase 5 and 6. Now, RuPaul's Drag Race winner Shea Couleé will be joining the franchise in a secret role for the upcoming series, Ironheart.

In a report from Deadline, RuPaul's Drag Race winner Shea Couleé is said to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the upcoming series, Ironheart where she got a secret role. Shea Couleé personally confirmed the same on her Instagram post expressing her excitement to join the MCU.

Shea Couleé proudly shared on Instagram, "I'm trying to find the words to express the deep excitement I feel over this project. Acting was my first love long before Drag. So it only seems fitting to end my Drag Race journey and begin my acting career in the biggest way I could imagine."

Couleé added what it feels like to join the MCU, "Stepping into the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been like stepping into OZ. 'Ironheart' is top to botton going to be an absolutely STUNNING experience for the viewers, and I'm so humbled everyday that I get to work on set with some of the best and the most dedicated artists in the industry."

Couleé ended her post with gratitude and love to the people who rallied behind her, "Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout my journey and I look forward to sharing the exciting new chapter with you all."

Marvel's Ironheart will follow Riri Williams, a genius teenage inventor, who is said to be the next Iron Man when it comes to the most advanced armor suits. She is expected to make her debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever where she is seen meeting with Shuri.

Shea Couleé is best known for her stint on RuPaul's Drag Race in her original season Drag Race 9, and she became the winner of All Stars 5. She even made it to the finals of the special all-winners edition of All Stars 7.

Shea Couleé landed a secret role on Ironheart and she will be joining Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams/ Ironheart, Lyric Ross as Riri's best friend Natalie, Anthony Ramos, Alden Ehrenreich, Manny Montana, and Harper Anthony.

In 2020, Marvel's Ironheart was personally announced by the big boss, Kevin Feige. Chinaka Hodge will serve as the head writer of the show and Angela Barnes and Samantha Bailey will be directing the series. Proximity is one of the producers of the series.

Marvel's Ironheart is from the pages of the Marvel Comic book series of the same name written by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Mike Deodato. It was redesigned by Kevin Libranda and Eve Ewing.

Marvel's Ironheart is slated for a Summer 2023 release on Disney Plus.
