Riri Williams Will Debut as Ironheart in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Riri Williams is one of the most exciting new characters who will be introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After all, she is set to be the new Iron Man (or Woman) after Tony Stark's demise. However, it looks like fans won't have to wait for Riri's Ironheart series on Disney+. Kevin Feige has just confirmed that Dominique Thorne will debut as the young heroine in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Back in December, the Ironheart series was confirmed and Thorne was revealed to play the young comic book character. Since then, people have been hoping that there would be updates on the new show but it looked like Marvel is currently putting the focus on other MCU projects.

Although it might still be a long wait for Ironheart, we will be seeing Riri in action a lot sooner. Feige confirmed with ComicBook.com that Thorne has already started working on Black Panther 2.

"We're shooting Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, right now, and the character of Riri Williams, you will meet in Black Panther 2 first," Feige said. "She started shooting, I think, this week before her Ironheart series."

This is an awesome confirmation considering that people are looking forward to Black Panther 2, which will focus on the culture and technology of Wakanda. The idea of Riri getting access to what Wakanda can offer teases major things for the character and we can't wait to see what she's capable of next year.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is scheduled to be released on July 8, 2022.
