Is The Witch and the Beast Finished or Ongoing?
As of writing, The Witch and the Beast manga is ongoing, sadly with no ending in sight.
The dark fantasy anime that follows the adventure of the cursed Guideau and the mage Ashaf is based on a manga written and illustrated by Kousuke Satake.
Since its 2016 debut, it has been serialized by Kodansha as a seinen work.

Is The Witch and the Beast on Hiatus? Possible Explanations
Unfortunately for its fans, The Witch and the Beast has been on indefinite hiatus for over a year.
The manga's most recent addition, The Witch and the Beast Chapter 55 came out in 2022, and it's part of Volume 10. This was the latest tankobon volume for the series. Since then, no new content has been added.
A hiatus was officially announced in January 2023. On March 24, 2023, Anime News Network announced that The Witch and the Beast was still on hiatus with no known return date.
The reason provided for the long break was that mangaka Kousuke Satake had been suffering from ill health and was still recovering.
This information was retrieved from Kodansha's Monthly Young Magazine's April 2023 issue. The magazine has also hosted works such as Mobile Suit Gundam Twilight.
To this day, The Witch and the Beast is far from the only manga to be in this situation.
Many manga series need to go on hiatus for short or longer periods (sometimes even years), and a creator's health problem can be among the leading reasons that call for a break.
Even the very popular Chainsaw Man took a break of around two years before its Part 2 debuted.
So far, there is no 2024 update about a possible continuation of The Witch and the Beast manga.
However, interest in the manga has reignited because the anime adaptation is currently airing on Crunchyroll.
