Guideau and Ashaf are partners against the witches in The Witch and the Beast. But is this all there is to their relationship? Here's what we know so far.

Guideau and Ashaf: The Witch and the Beast's Witch-Fighting Pair
Episode 1 of The Witch and the Beast doesn't waste any time with introductions. When Guideau and Ashaf arrive in town, they already have a well-established partnership.
The pair seems mistrustful of witches, and it's not long before we find out that they actively fight to eliminate them.
Ashaf is close to Guideau in a very gothic and creepy way: since she's currently forced to inhabit the body of a petite girl, Ashaf is tasked with carrying Guideau's true form on his back, hidden inside a coffin.
It is strongly implied that Ashaf, a mage, informed Guideau about the fact that she can temporarily undo her curse by kissing a witch.
While the manner of Guideau and Ashaf's first encounter isn't elaborated upon, it's clear that their shared desire to stop the witches' evil schemes is enough of a motivation to keep them traveling together.
Are Guideau and Ashaf in Love?
As is the case with many works with a rocking anime duo, some fans wonder whether Guideau and Ashaf could fall in love or end up together.
So far, there has been no indication that they are anything other than partners in crime.
Guideau doesn't express her feelings much. She doesn't show Ashaf any particular affection, although there's comfortable companionship between them.
Ashaf, on the other hand, expresses deep admiration for Guideau.
When she changes into her true form to fight a witch, Ashaf appreciatively says that she's the most beautiful and terrifying of creatures. This admiration, however, doesn't seem to be romantic.
In Guideau's first fight against a witch, Ashaf doesn't join her, not because he's afraid, but because he fully trusts her ability to handle the threat on her own, as the natural enemy of witches.
Since Guideau is presumably part of a different species, it might not even be possible for her and Ashaf to form a romantic relationship, as the nature of her true form is ambiguous.
However, this isn't a problem, as The Witch and the Beast offers more than enough thrills, even without romance.
