The Winter 24 season is already off to a strong start with lots of big anime premieres. One show that is steadily getting attention is The Witch and the Beast, which recently confirmed how many episodes it will have.
Previously, it wasn’t known how many episodes The Witch and the Beast would get. Now that the first episode has been released, info about how long the anime’s first season is has finally been confirmed.
It may not be the longest show of the season, but it should still be enough to satisfy fans who got hooked after watching its premiere.
Dark Fantasy Thriller The Witch and the Beast Is Getting Attention After Premiere
The Witch and the Beast is a dark fantasy thriller anime produced by Yokohama Animation Laboratory, the studio behind The Kingdoms of Ruin and Lapis Re:LiGHTs.
As with most anime this season, this series is based on an ongoing manga that’s published by Kodansha. Given that the manga began in 2016, the series already had a following before the anime premiered.
Following its first episode’s release, the show has gotten attention from existing fans as well as from those new to the series.
Based on the initial reactions, this series seems to have a lot of promise thanks to its eye-catching character designs and gothic vibe.
Of course, praise for the show isn’t unanimous as there are viewers who noted that the animation isn’t as good in some parts.
Other fans shouldn’t take these as outright criticisms though. It’s just that the manga’s art is detailed to the point of it being tough to pull off as an anime.

The Witch and the Beast Confirms How Many Episodes Season 1 Will Have
This anime was announced back in August 2022. At the time, it wasn’t clear how long it would be. After all, some shows this season will be longer like Delicious in Dungeon, which will run for two cours.
Finally, it was confirmed that The Witch and the Beast Season 1 will have 12 episodes. This was revealed in the Blu-ray listing on the anime’s official website.
The listing confirmed that the Blu-ray will be split into two volumes, with each volume containing six episodes. These volumes were also confirmed to be released on May 29 and June 26, respectively.
In the meantime, new episodes of the show are streamed every week on Crunchyroll in the US and other select regions.
