There had been plenty of Marvel characters who made their debuts elsewhere before setting foot in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Aside from the MCU, the FoxVerse, Netflix, and Sony's Spider-Man Universe all exist. Since the Deadpool franchise was initially a part of the FoxVerse, does that mean Deadpool 3 is set outside the MCU?

Is Deadpool 3 Canon: When Does the Threequel Take Place on the MCU Timeline?

Hugh Jackman's Wolverine was previously expected to have ended his reign as the adamantium-clawed mutant when 2017's Logan movie was released.

However, once Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool 3 finally came to fruition, he went ahead and made a no-biggie collaboration with Jackman on his YouTube channel to tease that Deadpool and Wolverine are uniting in the all-new movie for the Merc with the Mouth.

Now, given that the Deadpool franchise wasn't technically a part of the MCU when the series came to fruition, does this mean his timeline is outside the MCU?

To make some points, Deadpool wouldn't be the first hero to suddenly join the MCU and look for his place on the timeline. There's also Netflix's Daredevil, Sony's Spider-Men, and the X-Men Universe.

Professor X 'joined' the MCU when Patrick Stewart reprised his role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Considering that the MCU has been building some blocks on how to make the mutants canon, the Marvel Multiverse has been its main helping hand.

Not to mention how Spider-Man: No Way Home also made things clearer on where the Sony Spider-Man (Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield) stand on the MCU timeline, too.

As for where Deadpool 3 is pinned on the main timeline, though, we'll have to wait until further announcements and confirmations are made for the upcoming MCU threequel.

Is the FoxVerse Connected to the MCU?

Let's get this straight. While Netflix's Daredevil aka Charlie Cox's Matthew Murdock made his debut in No Way Home, it doesn't immediately connect his series canon to the Marvel canon.

But what his character appearance does is make the character exist on the same timeline and in the same universe as the rest of the MCU characters, wherein they live in Earth-616.

Let's not forget that Daredevil is getting a restart on his canon story, Daredevil: Born Again.

Although Stewarts' Professor X died in the Multiverse of Madness, that's only one reality of the FoxVerse down in the MCU. This doesn't completely get rid of the concept that the FoxVerse characters are canon to the billion-dollar franchise.

Most notably, in The Marvels' post-credit scenes, Mr. Beast made his debut on the big screens.

He was checking up on Captain Monica Rambeau, who found herself in an alternate dimension while saving the universe with Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel.

So, any movies that contain Marvel characters are essential parts of the ever-growing Marvel Cinematic Universe.

They either eventually make their cameo appearances in the franchise or Marvel Studios acquires the characters to ingrain them into the canon Multiverse.
