With the vastness of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it's quite difficult to pinpoint when exactly each movie and series takes place on the timeline. Now, with the Merc with the Mouth and more mutants set to arrive in the billion-dollar franchise, when does Deadpool 3 take place on the MCU timeline, then?
When is the Deadpool 3 Movie Set, Exactly?
We know little to no clues as to what might happen in Deadpool 3, however, the least we do know is that the Merc with the Mouth is set to make his big screen debut in the billion-dollar franchise by 2024.
And what does Wade Wilson do best, exactly? Breaking the fourth wall.
Though, in his case, it's not to make any convenient changes to the story that somehow lifts him from his problems, no. It's more of what makes him comedic and even more susceptible to Multiversal jumping.
This pretty much goes along with the potential leaked plot of Deadpool 3, which you can read below (via TheDirect):
"In Deadpool 3, Deadpool will use Cable's time travel machine to save Wolverine before his death in 2029 and they end up lost in the Multiverse being pursued by Mobius."
Judging from this synopsis alone, it would seem that Deadpool and Wolverine would meet somewhere before the year 2029, which is likely why the Deadpool threequel is rumored to not affect the outcome of the Logan movie.
However, what remains a question though, is how this would pay off in the MCU.

When Does Deadpool 3 Take Place on the MCU Timeline, Then?
The most crucial thing you've got to know as an MCU fan is that the main timeline of the billion-dollar franchise takes place in the reality of Earth-616.
While we got to know more about the outside MCU movies such as the Sony Spider-Man Universe and Venom (in Spider-Man: No Way Home), you've got to take note that it wouldn't have been made possible if it weren't for the existence of the Multiverse conjoining these alternate realities.
The same goes for Deadpool 3, considering that Earth-41633 is the reality of Deadpool 2, then the threequel might still pit the Merc with the Mouth and Wolverine in the Fox Universe before eventually making their way into the MCU.
This wouldn't be the first time that a non-MCU movie and characters would find their way into joining the franchise, by the way.
It's just that this time, it's to conjoin more franchises and heroes into the ever-growing Marvel Multiverse.
Now, if Deadpool 3 does indeed take place before 2029, then we're looking at placing the threequel around after the events of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Secret Invasion, and The Marvels - all of which occurred within 2025-2026, the most recent timeline in the MCU thus far.
As for whether the Earth reality Deadpool and Wolverine are in would affect their canon timeline on the MCU, well, we'll have to keep an eye out for more updates on that one.
