Ichiya is the blue majinn who dwells inside Shindo Akutaro, the acting leader, also known as the NG Boys' emperor. He was once close friends with Senya when they were training to become Honki people, similar to Arajin and Matakara's past relationship.

In episode 9, Ichiya abandons Shindo for Matakara, believing that the latter is stronger than the former. Ichiya also believes Matakara is a stronger vessel since he possesses an infinite darkness as a result of Mitsukuni's death and Arajin's betrayal.

True enough, Matakara has been seeing shadow monsters, which embodies the weakness in his heart and his desire to run away from his problems.

Ichiya promises to make Matakara stronger in order to rid himself of these creatures, but Matakara understands that even if he does, the monsters will not go away.

However, Ichiya is still able to corrupt Matakara's feeble mind and heart by compelling him to plunge headfirst into a maelstrom of rage and hatred for Arajin, and by the end of the episode, Matakara's eyes have changed.

Yes, Matakara turns evil in Bucchigiri, whether the viewers like it or not. After all, fans are accustomed to watching a happy and optimistic Matakara, but this time the tables have been turned.

As long as Ichiya is around, Matakara will have to fight Arajin to settle the score with Senya, and as long as Matakara believes that beating Arajin will rid him of his shadow monsters, he will remain the anime's antagonist.

Matakara's only chance of returning to his former self is if he can remember the kindness that remains in his miserable heart, which Ichiya believes is the major reason he can't completely become despicable.

At this point, it is up to Arajin to help his friend, despite Matakara's belief that by relying on his childhood friend, he will never become a Honki person and his own monsters will never go away.
