Simon and Doric’s Relationship in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves Explained
Before their quest, Simon courted Doric. Simon thought that Doric was one of a kind. However, Doric found his lack of self-esteem unattractive (not his best trait, according to Holga).
Doric said he made her feel sad, and it’s not because of anything he did, but just because of who he was.
When the team tries to recruit Doric, the latter emphasizes that Simon is a bad sorcerer. She also says that the only way to succeed in the mission is to have confidence that it can be done, but Simon lacks such.
While it’s clear that Simon still has feelings for Doric, the latter does not appear to be interested in going on another date with him.
Doric even forgot who Simon was when she saw him again, and the half-elf sorcerer still had to remind her about the time he courted her.
During their quest, Simon and Doric do not share some romantic moments. Even though Simon still has feelings for Doric, he chooses to focus on the mission.

After their quest, Simon admits that his last attempt to court Doric was quite bad. However, he asks if she would consider having another go at it.
Doric decides to give Simon another chance, provided he “calms down.” It seems that Doric chooses to go on another date with Simon after he finally overcomes his self-doubts and gains confidence.
In the latter part of the film, Simon realizes that it is him holding himself back. He manages to attune to the Helm of Disjunction, master his powers, and believe in himself.
He bravely fights in the battle against the Red Wizard Sofina, and with his magic, the team ends up defeating her.
Doric’s decision to give Simon another chance suggests that the two could become a couple in a sequel to Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
