As of writing, a Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves sequel is not yet confirmed.

The latest news about a potential sequel comes from Paramount Pictures CEO Brian Robbins. Speaking with Variety, Robbins said:

“We’ve got to figure out a way to make it for less.”

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves made $208 million worldwide against its $150 million budget. So, a sequel could happen, but on the condition that it would have to be produced on a lower budget.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves' ending does not have an obvious sequel setup. In the end, Edgin and the gang save Neverwinter and are named heroes by the true Lord of Neverwinter. The movie doesn't end on a cliffhanger, and the characters get a happy ending.

The film's mid-credits scene also does not hint at a sequel. It only shows the reanimated corpse of Ven Salafin, an Elk Tribe member, still begging to be asked one more question in order to rest peacefully again.

Additionally, John Francis Daley, co-director of the film, told Polygon that it was never their intention to make a franchise.

“It was never our intention when we came on board this film to make a franchise. I think that would cloud our ability to focus entirely on the film at hand. The cardinal mistake many studios make is to put the cart before the horse, where they start crafting a cinematic universe before they even make a good single film. So first and foremost for us was getting this right,” Daley said.

Jonathan Goldstein, co-director of the film, also told ComicBook.com that they didn't plant seeds, but there are many places a sequel could go.

"We didn't plant any seeds, but if we're lucky enough to make another one, then I think there's so many places to go. We've created these great characters who we would love to see where they are in a year or two," Goldstein said.

It is unlikely that Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves will get a sequel. However, following Robbins' comments about a smaller budget for a sequel, fans can hope for one to happen.

There are some potential stories to explore in a sequel, especially ones involving the villain Szass Tam. It was revealed that the Red Wizard Sofina was working for Szass Tam the entire time.

She was in contact with him, with the latter instructing her on what to do. While Szass Tam only has little screen time in the film, he's clearly a villain working in the shadows.

Although Edgin and the gang defeated Sofina, the threat of Szass Tam still remains. Thus, this villain might have a bigger role in a sequel.

Szass Tam also appears in a flashback scene from Xenk’s past, where he turns the people of Thay into zombies. So, a sequel could explore the connection between the paladin Xenk and the leader of the Red Wizards.

We would also likely see Simon and Doric become a couple. In the movie's ending, Doric decides to give Simon another chance. This suggests that they could end up together in the future.

There is no confirmation about a Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves sequel yet, so we just have to wait for official announcements.
