Chainsaw Man was one of the biggest shows of 2022, though its appeal doesn’t only extend to hardcore anime fans. This was proven by BTS superstar Jungkook, who recently covered the Chainsaw Man opening song.

During a recent Weverse stream, Jungkook sang various songs in karaoke style.

Aside from covering popular K-pop songs, he also surprised fans with his rendition of Kenshi Yonezu’s Kick Back. As fans expected, Jungkook nailed the song with ease.

The K-pop sensation BTS is without a doubt the world’s biggest boy band. Over the past couple of years, the Korean music group has amassed an active global fanbase and has continued to be one of the most-streamed music acts.

Currently, the group is on hiatus as one of its members recently entered Korea’s military service. Though the other members continue with their personal activities, including live streams for fans.

The latest live stream is by Jungkook, the youngest member of the group. As BTS fans likely already know, he is a big fan of anime.

In previous live streams and interviews, Jungkook revealed that he loves watching anime shows.

Some of the anime he considers among his favorites include Free!, Parasyte, Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, and more.

He is also a big fan of several notable anime movies such as Mamoru Hosoda’s The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, as well as Makoto Shinkai’s Your Name.

Now though, it seems that he is also a fan of Chainsaw Man, the anime series adaptation that drew lots of attention during the Fall 22 season.

Chainsaw Man was praised by many viewers for its animation, story, and music.

The anime’s opening, Kick Back, was even 2022’s most-streamed anime opening on Spotify.

Because of both the song and the anime’s popularity, it makes sense that Jungkook sang it during his recent Weverse live stream (as shared by @jksdgie on Twitter).

Though it was still a shocker for Chainsaw Man fans tuning into the stream.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise given his singing talents, but Jungkook’s rendition of Kick Back is excellent.

What is surprising is that Jungkook performed it at all, indicating that he has most likely seen Chainsaw Man.

After all, the anime is something that might not exactly fit with an idol’s image given its violence and questionable scenes.
