Following the resounding success of the One Piece live-action series, the world of anime is resonating with the belief that live-action can indeed deliver spectacular experiences. Thus, we present our compilation of anime that deserve a live-action adaptation.

RELATED: What Does the One Piece Live-Action Cover?

  1. Violet Evergarden

We kick off our list with Violet Evergarden, and this is a straight-up challenge because recreating Violet’s appearance will be a monumental task.

Having said that, Violet Evergarden is an anime masterpiece with stellar storytelling and a beautiful showcase of varied emotions.

Seeing Violet in a live-action adaptation would be a blissful s experience, and I sincerely hope that an ambitious studio will pick this up in the future.

It will be a treat to see Violet exploring the meaning of “I love you” in a Violet Evergarden live-action adaptation series or movie.

  2. Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation

Next up, we have Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation, which is way more different stylistically than other isekai anime.

However, like Violet Evergarden, adapting this would be an uphill task for a variety of reasons.

Considering the ages of specific characters, it might be necessary to implement certain adjustments to ensure broader audience acceptance.

One potential modification could involve reducing Rudeus Greyrat's inappropriate behavior during his childhood years.

Additionally, aging up certain characters could be explored to align certain scenes with appropriate age standards.

Nonetheless, Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation would translate beautifully to the live-action medium.

  3. Bocchi the Rock!

The sleeper hit of Fall 2022, Bocchi the Rock! not only won the hearts of the viewers but became a viral success.

Hitori “Bocchi-chan” Gotoh is a high school girl grappling with loneliness, finding solace in guitar.

Her daily routine revolves around strumming her guitar alone at home.

One day, she unexpectedly encounters Nijika Ijichi, on the lookout for a guitarist to join her band, Kessoku Band.

The likable and relatable characters with exceptional musical performances, Bocchi the Rock! absolutely deserves a live-action adaptation.

  4. My Dress-Up Darling

Cosplay, Hina dolls, and school romance; My Dress-Up Darling ticks all the necessary boxes to be a through and through entertainer.

Adapting My Dress-Up Darling into live-action would be a great idea. The light-hearted nature of this slice-of-life anime would look spectacular in live-action.

The series revolves around Wakana Gojo who leads a solitary existence, seeking refuge in the high school home economics room.

Wakana views people the popular and stylish Marin Kitagawa, always surrounded by friends, as beings from another planet.

However, when Marin sees Wakana sewing after school, she boldly enters his world with the intention of introducing him to her secret passion projection – cosplay.

  5. Berserk

Kentaro Miura (rest in peace, sensei!) is the master behind the dark and gritty seinen manga, Berserk.

The series took the world by storm because of its intense storyline and hard-hitting characters.

Guts, known as The Black Swordsman, reflects on his time as a member of the Band of the Hawk, a mercenary group called the Grim Reaper of the Battlefield.

Under the leadership of the ambitious Griffith, they navigate the challenges of the royal court, setting in motion a destiny that would alter their lives forever.

Berserk deserves to get a live-action adaptation series or a movie, and we are hoping to see one in the near future.

  6. Monster

Japanese brain surgeon Kenzou Tenma, once at the pinnacle of success in Germany, sacrifices his career and personal life by saving a young gunshot victim over the mayor.

Later, implicated in the murders of his replacement and the hospital director, Tenma must uncover the truth behind the mysterious Monster to clear his name and rectify his past choices.

Monster is hands down one of the most gripping stories I have seen in anime.

The plot takes its sweet time to develop, and I believe that could translate well in live-action. Thus, this thriller anime is a worthy contender for the live-action treatment.

  7. Baccano!

Based on a light novel series by Ryohgo Narita, Baccano! is a collection of stories with independent plots that intersect and entwine.

These intersecting stories propel certain events into a chaotic spiral of escalating disorder.

In this cinematic world, speakeasies controlled by the mafia, a few pulp fiction elements, and immortal alchemists collide, creating a weird tapestry reminiscent of classic films.

The style of the narrative of Baccano! fits to be in a live-action adaptation scenario.

  8. Terror in Resonance

On a summer day in Tokyo, a terrorist assault unfolds. The culprits, identifying themselves as Sphinx, are two boys.

This attack marks the inception of an elaborate game they have set in motion, one that promises to engulf the entirety of Japan.

The grandness of Terror in Resonance makes it perfect for a live-action adaptation series.

Moreover, the cat-and-mouse chase in Terror in Resonance would look marvelous as a live-action sequence.
