Ahsoka Season 2 Reportedly Not Guaranteed, New Report States

Disney has just released their teaser trailer for the next live Star Wars series, Ahsoka, and while the stars of the show are already teasing a second season, a new report sheds light that a renewal might not be on the table, after all.

The Mandalorian Season 2 featured the official live debut of Ahsoka, as portrayed by Rosario Dawson. Since her appearance, as well as Katee Sackhoff’s Bo-Katan, it wasn’t far long before Star Wars fans anticipated securing their own series soon.

Disney+’s Ahsoka series is set to follow main character Ahsoka Tano as she “investigates an emerging threat to the galaxy following the fall of the Empire.”

While a teaser trailer for Ahsoka has already been made, this does not necessarily secure a second season renewal for the show, especially since it has not been confirmed whether the Star Wars show is a limited series or planned for multiple seasons.

Previously, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, who will be portraying the live version of Sabine Wren, seemingly confirmed that Ahsoka Season 2 was already in talks ahead the series release.

“If we get [Ahsoka Season 2], I’m training from now [on], the minute it’s announced, that I’ll be like back in that, I love it.”

Dawson, too, was already looking forward to a second season: “[If Ahsoka does well], maybe we’ll get a second season.”

It is worth noting that Lucasfilm has yet to confirm a Season 2 already in development, seeing as The Mandalorian Season 3 is still finishing up. Not to mention, The Acolyte and Andor Season 2 are also in production.

Ahsoka has yet to receive an official release date but is expected to premiere on Disney+ in August this year!
