A lot of Star Wars fans are looking forward to Ahsoka, the upcoming live-action series that will focus on the titular Jedi with Rosario Dawson reprising the role. While the plot details are mostly under wraps, it is expected to feature another appearance of Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker. However, when Dawson posted on Instagram congratulating Christensen for joining the show, it was immediately deleted soon after. So why did the actress take down the post?
During a recent profile by Vanity Fair regarding the Star Wars franchise on television, Dawson confirmed that Lucasfilm told her to delete the post regarding her reaction to Christensen's reported casting in the show. "I looked in my email, and Star Wars was like, ‘You might want to take that down,’" Dawson recalled. "I’m like, ‘Man, I can’t be trusted.’"
It is hard to tell whether it is an indication that Christesen's casting news wasn't true or Lucasfilm just doesn't want Dawson to make a comment on the news since a lot of fans would perceive her reaction post as an official confirmation. However, the report did come from a major trade so we can safely assume that the information was accurate and it's not just a rumor.
So far, Lucasfilm has not made an official confirmation or announcement that Christensen is going to be part of Ahsoka. There is a reason to believe that he will show up in the series in some capacity given Anakin Skywalker's integral part in Ahsoka's life as a Jedi. There's a chance that he will appear through flashbacks or as Force Ghost.
It would be curious to see if Lucasfilm will make a confirmation on Christensen's casting in the series during the upcoming Star Wars Celebration event where they are expected to make a lot of announcements.
Besides Dawson and Christensen, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ray Stevenson, Natasha Liu Bordizzo (playing the role of Sabine Wren in live-action), and Ivanna Sakhno are also starring in the series. Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau are serving as executive producers. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse co-director Peter Ramsey is expected to helm an episode.

Ahsoka, which recently began production, is scheduled to be released on Disney+ in 2023.
