Spider-Man: No Way Home Director's Star Wars Series Project Details Revealed

A while ago, we learned that Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts is working on a new Star Wars series. However, during that time, there were no details yet about the untitled project regarding its setting or plot. Now, fortunately, new information has now emerged about the mysterious project and it looks like it will be set in very familiar territory.

A recent profile by Vanity Fair regarding the Star Wars television world revealed more details regarding Watts' untitled project. According to them, the series, which has the code name Grammar Rodeo, will take place during the post-Return of the Jedi era following the fall of the Empire similar to the setting of The Mandalorian although the plot remains to be a secret for now.

The series is created by Watts and his frequent collaborator Chris Ford, who was one of the co-writers of Spider-Man: Homecoming as well as Watts' other films Clown and Cop Car. A casting notice has also called for children ages 11 to 12 years old. It is also being described as a "galactic version of classic Amblin coming-of-age adventure films of the ’80s."

It is interesting to hear these new details regarding the Grammar Rodeo project that Watts has been working on and, based on the descriptions, it looks like the series will be a more young adult take on the franchise. While it will be set almost around the same time as The Mandalorian, it seems like it is still going to be somewhat a fresh take since it will be from the perspective of younger characters.

It would be curious to see if Lucasfilm will make an official announcement about this project at the upcoming Star Wars Celebration event where they are expected to reveal details about the franchise's upcoming slate.
