Ya Boy Kongming!'s Eiko Is Getting a Mini-Album in October

Ya Boy Kongming! was one of last year’s big surprise anime hits, and while fans may need to wait a while longer for the show’s return, fans can at least look forward to new projects. One of these is an official Ya Boy Kongming! mini-album that’s based on Eiko and Zhuge Kongming’s CD in the manga.

This new CD will feature an ending song of the anime coupled with brand-new tracks. What’s cool about this mini-album is that it’s supervised directly by the manga’s writer, Yuto Yotsuba.

The album isn’t the only new project in the series though, as there’s also a drama adaptation coming later this year.

Ya Boy Kongming! Fans Can Look Forward to Exciting New Projects

2022 was filled with lots of anime hits, though one of the most unexpected breakout shows is Ya Boy Kongming! as the show became one of the highlights of the Spring 2022 season.

The show’s explosion in popularity is thanks in large part to the catchy opening theme that became viral during its season.

It also helped that the show’s funny premise features the legendary Chinese strategist Zhuge Liang Kongming waking up in modern-day Shibuya.

Thanks to the show’s popularity, a live-action drama adaptation was announced earlier this year, and it is set to air in Fall 2023.

There’s no trailer for the new drama yet, but the first look at its two main stars has been shared.

Zhuge Kongming will be played by Osamu Mukai while Moka Kamishiraishi stars as Eiko Tsukimi.

Eiko Tsukimi Mini-Album Announced, to Release This October

Along with the drama, fans can look forward to the EIKO mini-album: Dreamer release this October as it will feature four original songs by Eiko. While Eiko is voiced by Kaede Hondo, her singing voice is by 96Neko.

The four new songs are titled Flower Crown, STAR TRIP, Sugar, and hot chill hot. Rounding out the 5-track CD is the ending theme song DREAMER which was used in the show’s fourth episode.

This new Ya Boy Kongming! mini-album will be released in Japan on October 25, 2023. There’s no announcement yet on a US release for this album.

At least, there’s a chance the mini-album will be released on streaming platforms.

As for the anime, there’s no word yet on Ya Boy Kongming! Season 2, though many expect the show to get renewed sometime in the future thanks to its popularity last year.
