We've only seen Despara very little in the fifth episode of Masters of the Universe: Revolution and the character isn't named within the show.

However, the role is officially credited to Grey DeLisle and mentioned as Despara.

So far, Despara seems to be connected to one of the show's antagonists, Hordak.

She expresses the wish to defeat He-Man and Skeletor when Hordak recovers, which leads us to believe she would be a major antagonist in a potential Masters of the Universe: Revolution Part 2.

Of course, the case might be more complicated based on Despara's appearances in other MotU franchises.

Is Despara Also She-Ra in Masters of the Universe: Revolution?

Fans of the Masters of the Universe franchise beyond Netflix's recent adaptation also know Despara as Adora, or by the most well-known name, She-Ra.

Adora is from the planet Eternia, and she's the daughter of King Randor and Queen Marlena.

She debuted in the franchise through her own animated TV show titled She-Ra: Princess of Power (1985).

This story was rebooted in 2018 by Netflix as She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.

What Happened to She-Ra in Masters of the Universe: Revolution?

So, how did Adora, known by the superheroine name She-Ra, become Despara?

The answer lies in the Masters of the Universe Classics (2008–2015) toy series. She-Ra follows her brother, Adam, into space to fight Horde Prime.

Eventually, she returns under the villainous alter ego Despara due to Hordak's brainwashing.

Since 2012, She-Ra has appeared in her own DC Comics, which gives us some hope about her character.

At first, Despara appears as a brainwashed, despotic captain under the control of Hordak. She gives He-Man a hard time, forcing him into hiding.

However, her connection with Teela eventually allows her to break free from Hordak's influence, which allows her to continue her journey into becoming She-Ra.

This leads us to believe that, while Despara initially appears as an antagonist in Masters of the Universe: Revolution, there's still hope for redemption, as she isn't an inherently evil character.
