Ballister was once a street kid of commoner status with an impossible dream: to protect the kingdom by becoming a Knight for Gloreth.

The Queen saw Ballister’s potential and decided to take her chances with him despite the controversy.

She believes that Ballister has the heart of a hero, more than anyone else in the kingdom. However, not everyone agrees with the Queen.

With this, Ballister faced discrimination and judgment from the prying eyes of the public and his fellow aspiring knights, except for Ambrosius Goldenloin, who became his lover and best friend.

Gloreth smiled upon Ballister’s fate, and the Queen ordered his knighting ceremony. It was the very first time a commoner like Ballister would be able to become a knight, so everyone had mixed reactions.

Unfortunately, Ballister’s knighting ceremony didn’t go smoothly. His sword turned into a murder weapon, which killed the Queen, who was in the middle of awarding his new status.

Of course, everyone accused Ballister of killing the Queen, but there’s more to this story as the plot unfolds.

Ballister knows that he has nothing to do with the Queen’s death, so it's up to him to find out the truth and clear his name.

In Nimona, the Director is the queen’s killer, not Ballister. She framed Ballister by switching his sword before the latter’s knighting ceremony.

She was caught in the act by the squire, who was messing around with Ballister’s armor before her arrival.

The Director denied everything, but Ballister and Nimona had another plan in mind. Nimona shapeshifted into Ambrosius to aggressively confront the Director and record her confession.

True enough, the Director confessed her evil deeds because she believed what her nightmares had been telling her.

She thinks that the Queen allowing Ballister to hold a sword is the first crack in the kingdom’s wall, which will eventually lead to its devastation.

Despite the confession, the Director still manages to turn things around with the scroll that contains Gloreth’s fight against the monster, whom she thinks is Nimona.

She told everyone that she didn’t confess anything and that Nimona had shapeshifted and copied her to free Ballister of his crimes.
