It’s hard to fall in love, but it’s harder to fall in love with a friend. Yuki Yoshikawa knows this fact the best. She might be in a confusing and complicated situation right now, but who does Yoshikawa end up with in Horimiya?
Yoshikawa, along with Toru, Izumi, and Hori, return in Horimiya: The Missing Pieces.
It will feature stories from the slice-of-life and romance manga that have not yet been adapted in Horimiya Season 1.

Who Is Yoshikawa’s Love Interest in Horimiya?
Initially, I never thought that Yoshikawa would have a love interest in Horimiya.
She was Hori’s girl best friend, and most of the time, in romance anime shows, side characters like Yoshikawa don’t really get into a relationship with the opposite sex.
Understandably, the focus of the anime is on the main characters, Hori Kyoko and Izumi Miyamura. But, surprisingly, Horimiya also brought so much depth to Toru and Yoshikawa’s characters.
Like any ordinary girl, Yoshikawa also fell in love. The same goes for Remi and Sakura, who were both side characters in Horimiya.
She had her eyes set on Toru Ishikawa, but another love interest appeared in the latter episodes of the anime: the handsome yet clumsy Akane Yanagi, whom all people honestly thought was completely out of her league.
So, who does Yoshikawa end up with in Horimiya? Does Yoshikawa end up with Toru, or does she end up with Akane?
Don’t worry, Yoshikawa never had any romantic feelings for Izumi! It will be interesting to see her go for Izumi, but we’re 100% sure Hori will be threatened!

Does Yoshikawa End Up With Akane Yanagi?
Unfortunately, Yoshikawa did not end up with Akane Yanagi, no matter how good-looking he was. Even Toru was embarrassed when he faced Akane for the sake of Yoshikawa.
Someone as good-looking as Akane is not exactly the type of guy that girls reject. But Yoshikawa is a very different girl with a different type of boy.
Clearly, Yoshikawa is not impressed with Akane’s good looks at all. In fact, she described Akane as an ordinary guy with ordinary looks, and Hori couldn’t believe her when she saw how handsome Akane was.
But we still didn't know what Akane saw in Yoshikawa. He liked her so much that he decided to act on it before it was too late. However, he faced rejection after Yoshikawa brought Toru with her.
Fortunately, Akane and Yoshikawa became friends. They treat each other with respect, especially when it comes to their personal relationships.
From time to time, Yoshikawa also hangs out with Akane. They look good together, but sadly, their relationship did not blossom.

Does Yoshikawa End Up With Toru Ishikawa?
Yoshikawa is head over heels in love with Toru Ishikawa by the end of Horimiya Season 1. She never confessed her affection to him, fearing that if Toru rejected her, everything would change between them.
Besides, Yoshikawa never thought that Ishikawa would see her in a different light.
She knew how much Ishikawa adored Hori, and she knew her appearance would fall short of his standards. She is not and will never be Toru's dream girl, in her opinion.
Things changed as the two of them grew closer after Izumi and Hori began dating.
Toru gradually fell for Yoshikawa, especially when the two feigned to date each other after Akane's appearance.
However, it is not as simple as we think. Even after Toru rejected Sakura, they were having difficulty confessing their affection for each other.
But they understood they shared the same feelings; it's just that they just want to protect what they have right now.
Yes, they have a problematic relationship, but Toru and Yoshikawa would rather stay in their current situation than label it. They have some sort of open relationship, but they have feelings for each other.
Toru and Yoshikawa's relationship was never formalized in the Horimiya manga.
There were no hints or facts indicating that the two of them had made any progress in their relationship that we were aware of.

So, Who Does Yoshikawa End Up With in Horimiya?
Yoshikawa Yuki did not end up with anyone in Horimiya. But this doesn’t mean that she will remain single while Hori and Izumi move on with their engagement and get married.
Perhaps Yoshikawa is still in the same setup with Toru, but we don’t really know.
Let’s just hope the two of them somehow find a way to settle with each other and get married like Izumi and Hori did in the Horimiya webcomic.
