CloverWorks has given high school romance a highlight with Horimiya which revolves around the story of the crossing of paths of two polar opposites: Kyouko Hori, an amiable girl with an academic prowess, who has been hiding another side of her personality behind closed doors, and Izumi Miyamura, a gentle loner who prefers his own self for company.
In the high school rom-com anime series, Kyouko Hori and Izumi Miyamura crossed each other's paths when they met in school. As the story progresses, Hori and Miyamura grew fonder of each other to the point where they started opening up the hidden sides of themselves to each other.When two people open up, this builds a deeper connection to both of them, a connection they have only to themselves, severing what lies outside of their relationship. And with no one walking away, each seems to learn to love their true selves with no fear of being rejected. They accepted both sides of the coin of each other.
This is what transpired between Hori and Miyamura. In the third episode of Horimiya, Hori and Miyamura confessed their feelings to each other while watching a movie. They held hands, grew closer together. In each other's understanding, Miyamura is Hori's and Hori is Miyamura's.
The cliché opposites attract proves itself to be true in the story of Horimiya. As the story paces, so did Hori and Miyamura's relationship together: from being unlikely friends given their different personalities to being in a relationship. Will their relationship subsist throughout the series? Will they end up together?
To those who have read the manga series, they already know the answer and great news to Hori and Miyamura shippers, they do end up together. With the anime series following the same arc as that or the manga, it will likely end up the same.
Growing stronger each day with the intimate connection they have, Hori and Miyamura slowly opens their relationship to the people they are close with then to everyone.
In a part where Hori is burning with a fever, Miyamura stays on her side to watch over her. Hori heard Miyamura confessing his feelings for her but did not respond as she is worried what their status might be and if her answer would affect what is currently going on between them.
In the latter part of it, Hori's father visited her and asked if she is dating Miyamura, her answer is a straight yes which confirms har acceptance to their relationship. After this, their relationship flourished and Hori even helped Miyamura chase his bullies away.
It is also revealed in the latter part of the manga that the two slept together. After the realization that they might be separated following the end of high school, Hori expressed that she wants to stay in the relationship they have. Miyamura, in turn, asked for Hori's hand to marry him.
This is a clear showing that both of them end up together, from nobody to high school lovers to being engaged.
