Game of Thrones is a fantasy series that’s filled with bloody battles, action, and politics, but it does have an amount of romance too. One of the most popular characters in the series is Jon Snow (played by Kit Harrington). So, does he end up with anyone in the series? Who does Jon Snow end up with in Game of Thrones?

Do Jon and Ygritte End Up Together in Game of Thrones?
While Kit Harrington and Rose Leslie ended up together in real life, the same thing did not happen to their characters.
Ygritte was a Wildling and Jon’s love interest for three seasons. Unfortunately, things did not work out between them because Jon was loyal to the Night’s Watch.
While Jon becomes sympathetic towards the wildlings, he ultimately chooses to betray them. When Ygritte confronts Jon, with her aiming an arrow at him, Jon explains that he has no choice and he has to go home.
He also says that he knows Ygritte won’t hurt him. Ygritte says her usual line, “You know nothing, Jon Snow,” and Jon responds that he knows he loves her.
Ygritte cries and shoots three arrows into his back, knowing that he will still survive. In fact, Tormund emphasizes that if Jon is still alive, it’s because she didn’t want her former lover dead.
Unfortunately, in the fourth season, Ygritte dies. The wildlings attack Castle Black, and this is where Jon and Ygritte see each other again. During the battle, Ygritte aims an arrow at Jon.
Jon smiles at her, which causes her to hesitate. But sadly, before they could say anything, Olly shoots her with an arrow. Jon holds Ygritte in his arms, and Ygritte says that they should have stayed in the cave.
Jon insists that they will go back there, and Ygritte tells him, “You know nothing, Jon Snow.” Ygritte then dies in Jon’s arms.
Jon and Ygritte were one of the lovable pairs of Game of Thrones, but unfortunately, they didn’t get a happy ending. What’s clear, though, is that they truly loved each other.
Kit Harrington even said, “Ygritte is the only woman for Jon. Always. There will be no one else.” So, Jon Snow did really know one thing: He loved Ygritte.

Do Jon and Daenerys End Up Together in Game of Thrones?
Jon and Daenerys do not end up together because Jon kills the Mother of Dragons in the series finale.
Jon and Daenerys meet in the seventh season of Game of Thrones. They formed a working relationship and eventually fell in love. Jon also bent the knee to her. But things become complicated after this.
The Northerners saw Jon as their ruler, not Daenerys. The jealousy on her part was clear. When it is revealed that Jon is actually a Targaryen, and Daenerys is his aunt, things get even more complicated.
Even though Jon does not want the throne, Daenerys thinks that people will want him to rule, not her. She even says that the people of Westeros love Jon, not her.
Eventually, Daenerys burns King’s Landing to the ground, which results in the death of thousands of innocent people. Jon confronts Daenerys about this, but she believes what she did was necessary.
Jon tells Daenerys that a world of mercy is what they need. Daenerys says that the new world she will build will be a good one because she knows what is good.
Jon asks about others who think they know what is good, and Daenerys responds that they don’t get to choose. To prevent Daenerys from causing more destruction, Jon decides to kill her.
When Daenerys tells him to join her in this new world, Jon responds that she will always be his queen. They kiss, and then Jon stabs her. So, Jon doesn’t get a happy ending with Daenerys either.

So, Who Does Jon Snow End Up With?
Jon Snow does not end up with anyone at the end of Game of Thrones. To quote Maester Aemon, “Love is the death of duty.” And to quote Tyrion Lannister, “Sometimes, duty is the death of love.”
Jon is a hero, but he’s always placed duty above everything else, including love. He chose the Night’s Watch over Ygritte and the wildlings. With Daenerys, he chose to do his duty by killing her to protect the kingdom.
Unfortunately for Jon, both of his romances ended in tragedy. If the Snow sequel series does push through, maybe he will get another love interest. But in the Game of Thrones series finale, Jon Snow does not end up with anyone.
