It has been years since that Game of Thrones ending. Since then, we have gotten a prequel series and spinoffs that are currently in development. But will there ever be a Game of Thrones Season 9? Here’s what we know so far.

Will There Be a Season 9 of Game of Thrones?
It is unlikely that Game of Thrones will be getting a ninth season. Season 8 was the series’ conclusion, and there have been no plans for a Season 9.
Instead, HBO began developing a prequel and spinoffs. We have a prequel series titled House of the Dragon, which will be getting a Season 2, a spinoff series titled Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight which is currently in development, and a possible sequel series titled Snow.
Snow could likely serve as a Game of Thrones Season 9 to fans since it will be set after the events of Season 8. Snow will focus on Kit Harrington’s Jon Snow.
At the end of Game of Thrones Season 8, Jon goes beyond the Wall with the Wildlings. The Snow series will definitely show us what happens next.
Additionally, since the series is set after the events of Game of Thrones Season 8, we would likely get updates about other characters too, like Bran Stark and his reign as the King of Westeros and Sansa Stark as the Queen in the North. As for Arya, she must have found “what’s west of Westeros” already.
So, the Snow sequel series could act as a Season 9 of Game of Thrones. However, it must be noted that Snow has not been given the green light yet.
As of writing, it’s uncertain yet if we’re getting anything beyond the ending of Game of Thrones.

Game of Thrones Spinoffs in the Works
Game of Thrones Season 9 has not been confirmed, but there are other spinoffs currently in the works.
Apart from Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, other spinoffs in development include The Sea Snake, 10,000 Ships, and The Golden Empire.
The Sea Snake will be about the voyages of Corlys Velaryon. 10,000 Ships will be about Princess Nymeria, an ancestor of House Martell who founded Dorne. The Golden Empire will be an animated series.
