As the new McDonald’s anime collab continues, the long-awaited WcDonald’s anime episode 2 has finally been released, and it promises to delight fans of old-school 80s anime.

Even though the anime short is only 30 seconds, it still offers eye-catching visuals and music inspired by Japanese city pop.

What’s also cool about the short is that it comes in two language versions for fans to enjoy.

While the fictional “WcDonald’s” brand is one that most anime fans are familiar with, pretty much no one expected it to come to life through the McDonald’s x Studio Pierrot anime collab.

Given that Pierrot is the notable anime studio behind shows like Naruto, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Bleach, it makes sense that anime shorts are one of the collab’s key highlights.

The first episode was released on February 27, featuring a familiar modern shonen style. Now, the second episode titled Love From Across The Booth has been shared online.

You can watch it in the English dub here:

This second episode features a style and tunes straight out of the 80s. Instead of action, the theme is romance, as it shows the original characters Kazuki and Shizuru as they go on a WcDonald’s date.

Also highlighted in the short is the WcDonald’s meal, which features the brand-new Savory Chili sauce. Plus, more original characters from the WcDonald’s manga are shown as restaurant staff.

As previously announced, the WcDonald’s collab will feature four anime shorts. The third and fourth episodes will be released on March 11 and 18, respectively.

The third short is titled WcNuggets Space Frontier 3000 and it will be a tribute to the ever-popular mecha genre.

Meanwhile, the fourth and final short is called The Wisdom of the Sauce, which will feature a fantasy setting.

These anime shorts are a highlight, but that’s not all there is to the collab. McDonald’s also tapped illustrator Acky Bright to work on four special manga chapters.

Similar to the anime, the manga’s chapters are also released weekly. You can read the currently released chapters on the collab website.

As for the WcDonald’s meal, anime fans can get them in McDonald’s restaurants in the US, Canada, and other select countries.
