McDonald’s recently unveiled a special anime collab that introduces WcDonald’s. Several participating McDonald’s outlets are also getting the WcDonald’s makeover. So, here are the WcDonald’s locations in the US where interested fans can avail of the promo for themselves.
What Is WcDonald’s?
The world of anime and manga is known to use real-life pop culture elements in their stories.
From Apple to McDonald’s, we have seen anime and manga create a spinoff of these popular brands, like McDonald’s becoming WcDonald’s.
But to make things more interesting, the fictitious world of WcDonald’s has come to life. From February 26, McDonald’s has introduced WcDonald’s to over 30 markets worldwide.
Collaborating with Japanese illustrator Acky Bright and renowned animation studio Studio Pierrot, McDonald’s has crafted an entire WcDonald’s universe.
McDonald’s has also introduced a limited-time only WcDonald’s Savory Chili Sauce.
The fast-food chain describes its new sauce as a unique blend of ginger, garlic, soy, and a hint of chili flakes.
You can pair the sauce with 10-piece WcNuggets, which are McDonald’s famous Chicken McNuggets.
During a limited period, fans will get manga-inspired packaging showcasing WcDonald’s Crew characters, hand-drawn by Acky Bright.
Are There WcDonald’s Anime and Manga?
WcDonald’s official website is releasing four anime shorts produced by Studio Pierrot beginning February 26, 2024.
Each anime short is accompanied by manga chapters, all illustrated by Acky Bright.
Accessing both the manga and the anime shorts is as simple as scanning a code found on the WcDonald’s bag.
The WcDonald’s anime shorts are scheduled to premiere every Monday from February 26 to March 18, 2024, paying homage to four of anime’s popular genres namely, romance, mecha, action, and fantasy:
- Episode 1: The Race to WcDonald’s (February 26) – A longstanding rivalry unfolds as two heroes engage in an epic race toward WcDonald’s.
- Episode 2: Love from Across the Booth (March 4) – The two main characters realize that the harmony between WcDonald’s Sauce and WcNuggets isn’t the only perfect combination they encounter.
- Episode 3: WcNuggets Space Frontier 3000 (March 11) – A unit of WcDonald’s pilots is tasked with safeguarding the final WcNugget against a menacing threat.
- Episode 4: The Wisdom of the Sauce (March 18) – Three women find themselves transported to another world, tasked with uncovering the mystery behind the sauce before it disappears for eternity.
Where Are the WcDonald’s Locations in the US?
Since WcDonald's is a promotional event, your nearest McDonald's will get a WcDonald's makeover in terms of food packaging and the new WcDonald's limited edition sauce.
However, McDonald’s will also feature a real-life WcDonald’s setup on March 9-10, 2024.
Drawing from the isekai anime genre, the WcDonald’s Immersive Dining Experience promises to be a multi-sensory culinary adventure in Los Angeles, California.
Fans may secure a reservation through OpenTable starting February 28 by searching for WcDonald’s Immersive Dining Experience on the OpenTable website or app.
