The WcDonald’s collab was initially teased by the fast-food giant on February 21. Shortly after, McDonald’s revealed the complete details.
This new collab’s highlight is a series of four anime shorts made by Studio Pierrot, the long-running anime studio behind hit titles like Naruto, Black Clover, and Bleach.
Along with the anime shorts, there are also special manga chapters made just for the collab. To unlock the anime shorts and manga chapters, fans need to scan a QR code on the WcDonald’s set meal bag.
The meal consists of McNuggets, fries, a drink, and the new savory chili sauce. Orders of the meal also come with special packaging, including a WcDonald’s paper bag with manga panels.
As the savory chili sauce is new, it’s no doubt the highlight of the meal. Despite the rather vague name, the savory chili sauce features garlic, soy, ginger, and chili, meaning it’s an Asian-inspired sauce.

What Does the Savory Chili WcDonald’s Sauce Taste Like?
This isn’t the first time that McDonald’s released an Asian-inspired spicy sauce. After all, there’s the Szechuan sauce from Rick and Morty, which got lots of attention years ago.
So, what does the savory chili WcDonald’s sauce taste like? According to reviews by diners, the sauce is ginger-forward with a good amount of spice.
Meanwhile, others noted that the sauce has a nice balance of ginger, soy, chili, and garlic flavors. Others even said that it tastes similar to the viral Szechuan sauce.
