Undead Girl Murder Farce: Mysteries at the End of an Era
In Undead Girl Murder Farce, we meet Tsugaru Shinuchi in the turn of an alternative 19th century, a time when yokai are slain due to Japan's westernization effort.
Tsugaru works as a yokai slayer despite being part-yokai, killing a bit of himself every day while serving death as a spectacle.
This changes when he encounters Shizuku, a mysterious maid carrying her lady's head in a cage.
Aya, who still lives despite being decapitated, introduces herself as a detective and immortal being who has been around for almost a thousand years.
Initially, Aya seeks out Tsugaru in hopes of asking him to kill her. But upon first acquaintance, they come up with a better deal.
Thus begins Tsugaru's life as the infamous "cage user", an assistant who helps Aya solve crimes while looking for the culprit who severed her head and stole her body.
Will Undead Girl Murder Farce Be Dubbed in English?
As of writing, the English dub of Undead Girl Murder Farce hasn't been confirmed.
In the early summer of 2023, Crunchyroll released a list of anime that would get dubs within the season.
Unfortunately, Undead Girl Murder Farce wasn't on the list, so we can assume there are no immediate plans for an English dub.
We can see where Crunchyroll is coming from, given that the detective anime was a bit of an outsider.
Undead Girl Murder Farce pleasantly surprised fans and many will likely keep watching it due to the creepy premise, intriguing mysteries, and cool characters.
But no one can predict how well a show about a talking head in a cage is going to do; it is an absurd concept that could have gone wrong very easily.
This doesn't mean that it couldn't be dubbed after the end of the Summer 2023 anime season, though.

We do think an English dub is possible, but it's hard to determine just when it'll happen.
