Twilight Saga Reboot TV Show Is Officially In Development; Original Author Attached To Project

You might remember Stephenie Meyer’s the Twilight Saga happening 11 years ago, which continues to be a huge part of pop culture up ‘til today.

Funnily enough, Twilight still constantly gets referenced in plenty of modern TV shows on the absurdity (iconic, to some) of the vampire Edward Cullen mysteriously falling in love with Bella Swan.

This was quite the breakout career for both stars, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, in spite of both actors despising the franchise.

Now, for Twilight fans, here’s something you don't hear everyday: the Twilight Saga is getting a TV reboot at Lionsgate!

Per The Hollywood Reporter, the Twilight Saga reboot is still in early stages of development, so it’s unsurprising that the series has no confirmed platform yet, nor a writer or director attached to the project.

Sources told the news outlet that Lionsgate Television plans on producing the reboot independently before acquiring broadcast rights to its future potential buyers.

As for the involvement of series author Stephenie Meyer, she is very much involved, but it remains to be seen how much she would be in making decisions for the reboot.

Meanwhile, Wyck Godfrey and Erik Feig, who was previously the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group co-president, are attached as executive producers for the TV reboot.

There is also no confirmation yet whether the Twilight Saga reboot is sticking to the original novels or creating a new story within the Twilight universe.

Amid this report, Lionsgate Television declined to make any comment to address the developing reboot.

In lieu of the many reboots and remakes happening, the list goes on, which includes a live-action Moana and Lilo & Stitch. Max is developing seven seasons of the Harry Potter reboot with a new line of actors.

Not to mention, Warner Bros. Discovery is planning on making new The Lord of the Rings movies based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s works.

The Twilight Saga reboot has no release date yet. In the meantime, you can stream the Twilight films on NBC Universal’s Peacock.
