Harry Potter Reboot Reportedly Happening With New Actors In Line

Warner Bros. initially promised a Harry Potter spinoff being in development, specifically, a spinoff focusing on The Cursed Child from JK Rowling’s best-selling series. However, word got out that a Harry Potter reboot was in the works, instead, back in December last year, and it looks like nothing is stopping them now, given that the reboot is reportedly on its way.

According to one of Bloomberg’s sources, Warner Bros. and HBO are almost complete in locking the deal with JK Rowling to produce an all-new Harry Potter television series.

With a pretty similar premise to what Rick Riordan is planning for his Disney+ reboot on Percy Jackson and the Olympians, the Harry Potter reboot will have each of its seasons focus on one book of Rowling, which indicates there will be seven seasons of the project.

The Harry Potter reboot may have been greenlit, but this does not mean Rowling will be fully involved with its production, much like with what Draco Malfoy actor previously revealed.

The series creator would simply be an advisor amidst staying loyal to the source material. Needless to say, fans would prefer the author’s involvement to be as little as possible, similarly to how Hogwarts Legacy had been created.

While this is pretty exhilarating news, considering that the original films needed revamping in terms of sticking to the whole missing plots they failed to adapt, fans are nowhere to be seen supporting this.

Apart from Rowling’s ongoing anti-trans controversy, seeing a new line of actors portraying the franchise would definitely throw off the ones who grew up with the golden trio of Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson.

Surely, a TV series of the classic Harry Potter franchise would improve the stories they previously told. Hopefully, a more expanded version on what the original films missed, unless fans went to search on the unreleased behind-the-scenes video clips of what could have been closer in sticking to the books.

The Harry Potter reboot series has no official release date yet. But what are your thoughts on the upcoming reboot from HBO Max and Discovery+?
