A lot of MCU fans have been looking forward to Thunderbolts which will feature a team-up of fan-favorite characters such as Bucky Barnes, Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, John Walker, Taskmaster, and many more.
The film was supposed to begin production several months ago, but it was delayed due to the Hollywood strikes which halted any work on all major projects across the industry.
For the past several weeks, we've been hearing some updates on the project including Steven Yeun's confirmed role as Sentry and fans are hoping that the film will finally be able to begin production soon.
Now, we finally have an update on its filming date thanks to a tidbit from one of its stars.

Wyatt Russell Confirms Thunderbolts is Set to Begin Filming This Spring
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Wyatt Russell, who plays John Walker, opened up about his excitement about working on Thunderbolts.
He revealed that the MCU film is set to begin filming this March or April of 2024, which is almost a year since the original start date of the production before the strikes.
"I hope so. There’s so much to play with John, and there’s so much more to do with John. I’m so lucky to get to work with the kind of talent that I’m going to work with when Thunderbolts starts up in March or April," Russell said.
"I don’t know when they’re starting yet, but Sebastian Stan is a great friend and you couldn’t ask for a better actor. Florence Pugh is one of the best actresses in the world right now, and she’s one of my personal favorite actresses in the world."
He continued, "David Harbour. Steven Yeun is one of the better actors in the world right now. You’ve got all of these people in this movie, and I couldn’t feel luckier. "
It is exciting to hear that the upcoming movie will finally begin this spring as it indicates that the project is already in pre-production at the moment and hopefully, there won't be any obstacles and they will be able to start on time.
Since it's still a few months away before its planned start date, they also have time to refine the script and make sure that it will be a quality film that the audience will enjoy.
Thunderbolts is slated for release in theaters on July 25, 2025.
